Kingshill Barn, Elmley Nature Reserve Wedding with Bright Flowers Decor

Our couple today wanted a relaxed, fun, informal day and this is the perfect example of how a venue can really compliment the feeling you want to create on the day. Justina and Simon chose one of our gorgeous List member venues as the backdrop for their wedding, and an Elmley Nature Reserve wedding is always a spectacular wedding. They used local suppliers for food and the bar, as well as creating their own mini sports day. Seeing Justina beaming from ear to ear in the middle of the sack race is going to make your day!

Favourite Moments
Of course marrying Simon was one of my favourite moments of the day, however the Sports Day that we'd arranged was great fun! We had egg and spoon races, sack races and three-legged races. Alongside myself and Si, plenty of our guests were equally as keen to get involved, especially after a few rounds of drinks. Safe to say it got a little competitive! Simon also seemed very content with the second helpings of hog roast alongside the boxes of traditional cider!

Elmley Nature Reserve Wedding

Justina and Simon wanted to steer away from the more traditional wedding and an Elmley Nature Reserve Wedding is exactly this. To fit in with the natural beauty of the venue, they kept the decor as fresh and rustic as possible. Kingshill Barn at Elmley already has wonderful festoon and fairy lighting, so they concentrated on dressing it further with the most beautiful wildflowers I have seen in a long time.

Advice For Couples
Relax and trust your vendors with their ideas and suggestions. They are the professionals and do what they do, day in and day out, so have plenty of experience in their fields. For example, my brief to Alicia, our florist, was fairly simple. This enabled her to get really creative with the flowers, and to be honest, she blew us away with what she achieved! Also try not to get too stressed with the small things, those 'extra props', as the guests won't spend anywhere near as much time concentrating on them as you do
