Now, this wedding truly is a sight to behold for all the right reasons at Recommended venue, Loft Studios. With a complete explosion of coloured gypsophila wedding flowers, bright blue bridesmaid dresses and a dessert station full of goodies that each guest had baked themselves, we have to say there’s nothing we don’t absolutely adore about this wedding! Especially when a Recommended supplier, Nat Raybould, conducted the ceremony and they had their confetti from Recommended supplier, Flutter, Darlings!
The pressure of being a stylist and designing your own wedding when it’s literally what you do for a living is so intense - I can't tell you how many people told me in the run-up that they couldn't wait to see what I created - It's a lot of pressure, but I loved every second. We created a day that exploded with our personalities from start to finish, and one that I’ll remember forever and ever. The day was full of fun, laughter, colour, food and music, with every element meticulously chosen to bring an aspect of us into it.
Callie
Let's talk about those flowers! The flowers were a key part of Callie's vision, which she worked on with a team of people. The flowers were coloured gypsophila and a mix of delicate and modern blooms in flower columns used at the altar. Callie & Sam chose a humanist and handfasting ceremony because they wanted something that was personal to them. The care and attention to detail that Nat took with the ceremony was incredible. The couple chose Loft Studios because they wanted a modern, relaxed and intimate vibe and a blank space to make their own. All the weddings that Callie works on are full of colour and personality and she didn't want hers to be any different. Callie & Sam played rock paper scissors to see who would read their vows first, which is a great icebreaker idea. Their readings included 'Everything I Know About Love' by Dolly Alderton (a fave of ours).
The first dance was something the couple was nervous about but soon turned into a highlight of their day. They picked 'Super Trouper' by ABBA as they knew everyone would love it. At the start of the first chorus, the bridesmaids set off confetti cannons and the couple danced surrounded by their friends and family. With a business that focuses heavily on the art of tablescapes, the styling of the tables was important for Callie. Callie loves turquoise and gingham, so she made the napkins with her mum and had the turquoise glasses made by Sam's uncles. The wiggly menus Callie also designed added so much playfulness to the table. For food, there was fresh pasta and a pizza van for the evening. For dessert, the couple asked the guests to bake something and bring it along. They ended up with the most amazing range of puddings and was one of their fave parts of the day!
Don't be afraid of colour. Make sure it reflects who you are as a couple. Take time away just the two of you. Enjoy every second of it as it goes so fast.
