We've all seen romantic films where the flash mob choir launches into a song and serenades the love interest. Well, Sophia and Mike decided to make fiction into reality by hiring a gospel choir to entertain guests at their wedding. As you can see by the photographs captured by Recommended supplier Epic Love Story it went down a treat! The rest of their London wedding was full of lots more good vibes and serious style. The day also included a first look, satin pink bridesmaid dresses and neon signs. I know! Get your pinning fingers ready for this one, it's SO good. And, did we mention it was all planned for 4 months?!
Our vibe was a contemporary wedding with a touch of luxe. We married in a beautiful intimate church right next to Liverpool St. (where Sophia’s Nonna used to go) and then hopped in a cream vintage London cab to The Loft Studios. The most unique thing was that we planned our wedding in under 4 months (lots of late-night planning sessions). We’d been together for 7 years and the pandemic allowed us to slow down and realise that we, of course, wanted to marry each other. The stars then aligned finding the most amazing venue and the rest they say is history!

I love to research and so searched the web morning, noon and night! I really enjoyed the whole process of planning and creating a wedding from scratch. We mainly looked on Instagram to find suppliers. Emma our amazing photographer guided us to some seriously talented people too. I couldn’t be picky finding a dress in 4 months but The Fall Bride was a godsend. I bought a Kamperett ready-to-wear dress for the evening and my day dress was from their re(cycle) section - I wanted a contemporary but luxe dress and it was perfect.
After 18 months of Covid restrictions, we wanted our guests to experience a day of pure joy. Whilst we were in the cab, our guests were on two red London double-deckers that we turned into party buses with bubbles flowing and a banging playlist. To surprise the guests at the venue we hired a gospel flash mob choir. They played all the garage classics and the atmosphere was electric. Guests threw over 1kg of confetti and we had delicious cocktails flowing all night. We wanted a day full of love and vibrancy to celebrate not just our lives but those of all our guests too.
It’s extremely freeing to accept that you may not be able to have absolutely everything perfectly in line with your vision. We found it helpful to be flexible and open to alternatives, and that allowed us to find some incredible people and things. Throughout our planning, we had our guests in mind and thought about how they would experience each part of the day. This really guided us to add in those extra touches. We also thought a lot about music; we didn’t want it to stop once it started and this created a vibe at every minute of the day.

Mike has, unfortunately, had a serious ski accident which will put him out of action for many months. This would have meant marrying this summer would’ve been a lot harder as Mike is currently in a wheelchair and using crutches. We want other couples to know that you can plan an incredible wedding in a much shorter time than you think. If circumstances allow, we encourage you to seize the moment and lock in a date sooner rather than later. From our experience, in life, you never know what’s around the corner so savour each moment and go for it!
