I could not recommend Hilles House more! We got married there in July 2024 and our wedding was over two days with 130 people. This was the only venue that we went to see initially and we fell in love with it (the views are incredible! The cherry on top of the weekend was the stunning sunset). Many thanks to Detmar for letting us celebrate in his beautiful home - we will cherish the memories for our lifetime.

Many thanks for providing the most magical venue for our daughter's wedding in July. A truly stunning location, with out of this world views, a beautiful Arts and Crafts House, and a wonderful welcome from Detmar. An absolutely perfect backdrop to a very happy celebration.

We got married at Hilles House in May 2023 and it could not have been a more incredible venue for our wedding. We knew instantly that we had found somewhere special and unique to get married. Detmar and Emma were flexible and helpful in the planning process, which allowed us to have the day we envisioned. The landscape backdrop during the ceremony was stunning and the lawn was perfect for our drinks reception/marquee. Our guests were all so impressed with the incredible views and the charm of the house. It far exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t be happier that we chose Hilles House! Big thank you!

We decided to get married at Hilles House, not only because of its charming and unique location but because it really is THE location in Gloucestershire. With a stunningly beautiful backdrop, overlooking mountains, rivers, and fields, we felt there was simply no place that could compare. We were equally charmed by Detmar who has created an oasis for couples and families that want to experience everything Hilles has to offer. We had drinks and canapes on the front lawn, and we soon moved to the flat lawn at the back for the Wedding breakfast. This area is perfect for celebrations with hedgerows on one side, and further views of 5 counties. We had been excited in the build up to the big day, knowing our guests would be as impressed as we were. Hilles offers romance and drama, as well as a unique sense of nostalgia and an epoch enriched with a family heritage spanning generations. Hilles House also offers the full range, from detailed organisation, to event support on the day, as well as fully-serviced event management. The venue far exceeded even our highest expectations. We couldn't be happier - and given half a chance, we would do it all again, and at Hilles House! Thank you Detmar and team!

We had our wedding at Hilles House on Saturday 11th May and it was more than we ever could have hoped for. I remember my Dad driving me down the long driveway in an old Landrover through all of the wild garlic and seeing our guests making their way to the outdoor ceremony overlooking five counties. We had drinks on the terrace in the sunshine, a delicious meal by Cotswold Cooks in the Palace Yurt and watched the incredible sunset before an amazing party. We saw lots of venues and so many felt like a 'package' or 'factory wedding'. Hilles gave us the flexibility to be creative and design the day we wanted. Emma was brilliant and we actually really enjoyed the day before decorating with all of our bridal party. We spent the evening before the wedding in the local village pub The Royal Oak which is lovely. I would really recommend our suppliers as well, our incredible photographer Amy-Rose Photography, Cotswold Cooks and the Enchanted Florist. I wish we could do it again!

Hills House is in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK and the house itself and the garden are breathtaking. I was lucky enough to attend a wedding at Hilles and the environment added considerably to the experience. Hilles House has grandeur and romance in spades, as well as quirky touches that stick in the visitor's mind, like the mini carriage in the side entrance, or the full suits of armour. The arts and crafts style of the architecture is grand without being intimating and the garden is designed in a similar manner, which means the casual visitor will admire it without worrying about actually walking on the grass (unlike some English country houses which can feel stuffy). The views from the house and garden are incredible, especially at sunset. Extra points for the cute sheep and horses that graze in the paddocks.Highly recommended
