Wellington Wood lesbian wedding

Spring Tipi Wellington Wood Wedding

Photography by Camilla Andrea

Take it from us, this woodland wedding at Recommended Venue, Wellington Wood, is not one you want to miss. Emma & Charlotte always loved the idea of getting married in a woodland surrounded by nature. The couple chose to marry in the spring season and decorated the woodland in Perry pastel blooms with sunflowers. Gorgeous! With performances from opera singers, yummy canapes, hilarious speeches, and one hell of a dance party, this wedding was the best day for Emma & Charlotte. The couple had a tipi for the wedding reception which was styled with a seasonal pink and white colour palette and signage.

We have a few favourite moments from our day. Seeing each other for the first time in our outfits down the aisle will be a moment we will never forget. The readings and speeches were so special and so entertaining- we laughed a lot. Dancing with all our friends and family felt like the most fun we had ever had.

Outdoor Woodland Wedding

Emma & Charlotte loved the idea of getting married in a small clearing in a woodland, somewhere outdoors with the feeling of being in nature. There’s just something so romantic and magical about tying the knot surrounded by nature! These two brides decided that a tipi over a marquee was also a must for them. They love the warm glow of a tipi, and the varying heights create a cosy atmosphere. For decor and styling, Emma & Charlotte opted for relaxed boho festival vibes with colourful ribbons, flags and pastel spring wedding flowers to set the mood for the party.

Wedding Music & Singers

Charlotte's brothers are both classical opera singers, so they sang while they walked up the aisle and at the end of their ceremony, which made the day feel extra special. For walking down the aisle, Charlotte’s brother, Harry, sang Ideale by Tosti and for walking back down the aisle, her brother, Edward, sang  L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole. After fizz and canapés, the speeches ensued that were hilarious and moving in equal measure. The reception was so much fun and full of energy with hours and hours of dancing thanks to the wedding DJ.

Enjoy the wedding planning process, don't get bogged down with little details and instead, just do the big things well - a good venue, good food and good vibes. Get someone to be in charge of decorations on the day - that was a lifesaver for us.
