Lulu & John's sensational rock n' roll wedding at Southlands Barn is truly something special. Their theme centred around music festival culture, and the idea that 'Love Rocks', and we wholeheartedly agree. I mean, have you seen our name? With fantastic, intricate details, an exuberant colour scheme, some killer alternative looks and one of the most insane bridal crowns we've ever seen, it's safe to say that it's not just love that rocks. This entire wedding does. Recommended Supplier Phoebe Rossi Photography captured the incredible energy perfectly - with every delicious detail accounted for.
The vibe of our day was based around music festivals and the theme that 'LOVE ROCKS!'. John and I are in the music business and a huge part of our lives revolves around festivals and live music. We're very much into the rock and metal genre and work with bands so our wedding was very true to our personalities! I managed to purchase a bunch of decorations online around Valentine's that fit in with our style and we brought our big 'Love Rocks' neon sign from home! My wonderful Mum also made the favours and napkin holders.
Lulu & John
Southlands Barn rock and roll wedding
Southlands Barn wedding stands as a charming testament to rustic elegance and natural beauty. The venue exudes an air of timeless allure, with its weathered beams and expansive windows framing panoramic views of rolling hills and open skies. The wedding barn's warm, inviting atmosphere provides the perfect canvas for couples seeking a wedding experience that blends pastoral charm with modern comfort. From the meticulously curated gardens that lend themselves to whimsical outdoor ceremonies to the spacious interior adorned with delicate string lights, Southlands Barn offers a versatile backdrop for couples to realise their dream wedding. At Lulu & John's wedding, the air was electrified with the echoes of riffs and the heart-pounding rhythm of drums as love took centre stage at a rock and roll festival-themed day. Against the rustic backdrop, the bride and groom exchange their vows beneath a vibrant canopy of neon lights. Guests, dressed in their vintage best, swayed to the timeless tunes that have defined generations. The aisle song was Summer Always Comes Again by Voyager. The exit song - I Was Made For Lovin' You by Kiss. You get the idea. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration ignited with a fusion of rock anthems and heartfelt toasts. The groom's crushed velvet burnt orange blazer paired with the bride's beyond-fantastic floral gold bridal crown looked absolutely perfect. The pair both donned sunglasses and threw out a lot of rock and roll signs. This wedding wasn't just a union of two souls; it was a harmonious collision of music, love, and unforgettable moments, creating a symphony of memories that will resonate for a lifetime.
If we had any advice... Definitely research and plan ahead! A wedding is a lot of organisation with many plates to juggle. We pondered a lot about elements that were important to us and those that we decided not to spend money on. Traditions aren't for everyone either. I'd definitely recommend taking the time to try samples from your caterers ahead of time so you can craft exactly what you like and don't like. We tried so many cake flavours and loved them all. But in the end, we went for a much-complimented choice of lemon and blueberry and chocolate orange!
From start to finish, Lulu & John's celebration at Southlands Barn was an absolute riot. And we mean that in the best way possible. The outfits, the vibe, the music, the electricity... Everything. And obviously, the venue tied everything together, making each and every photo aesthetically pleasing as all heck.
