This wedding certainly broke a few records! Asha & Shyam married at Hampton Court House, after being together for 15 years. Planning their wedding was not difficult as they both knew exactly what they wanted! They had 15 years to think about it, after all! Asha & Shyam wanted their day to reflect them, their interests and their personalities. We just had to share this incredible day! The wedding had the UK’s first female Hindu priest, a music playlist full of electronic tracks, and appearances from their pet dog. Let’s get into it…
We really wanted our Hindu ceremony to feel modern by being one that embraced female empowerment. We did a lot of research to find a female priest.
Asha & Shyam
Asha & Shyam wanted their Hindu ceremony to feel modern and contemporary so they picked the UK’s first female Hindu priest. She tailored the ceremony to their needs and it felt so personal and fun at the same time. Having the Hindu ceremony outside also added a holiday vibe. The couple wanted an English country garden vibe to complement Hampton Court House. With this in mind, Asha’s bouquet had wildflowers with natural foliage and pops of colour. Decorated with green foliage hanging from the ceiling, the conservatory also matched the theme.
When Asha & Shyam saw Hampton Court House they instantly knew it was the one. The team at the venue helped recommend many of the suppliers. However, the DJ was a connection through Shyam’s brother. The couple crafted their own Hindu wedding playlist with a mix of downtempo electronic tracks from some of their favourite artists. It helped to add a modern dimension to the ceremony just like the couple wanted! Asha & Shyam’s pet dog, Rolo, hi-fived the couple directly after the civil (perfect timing)!
I did my own makeup! A few weeks before the day, my makeup artist cancelled on me as she double booked, which left me with little time to find an alternative I was happy with. I have always enjoyed makeup so I decided to do it myself.
