A Lion King themed wedding? Seriously, how much better can it get?! We’re feeling all the love tonight (get it…) with this inspiration. With its colourful tones, boho vibe and extravagant dried flower arrangements, each aspect transports us back to a childhood favourite. We love the outdoor tipi, complete with bamboo furniture and Moroccan styled cushions - so lush! It’s all so carefree - basically, it’s the epitome of Hakuna Matata. Hey, it means no worries, right? We approve!
Inspired by my favourite childhood movie, the Lion King, and it’s colour palette, this shoot is a boho, and vibrant nod to the movie’s setting. We brought the lush grasslands of Africa to Hertfordshire with extravagant dried flowers arrangements, an outdoor ceremony of dreams and an intimate tipi dining area on the island of Brook Farm, Cuffley.Caroline Opacic Photography
Our model, Dionne, wore two looks by Kate Edmondson Bridal - both separates with ornate floral lace tops. For the first look we went for a regal high neck and tulle skirt and the second, with beautiful statement sleeves, was a more informal feel for an evening reception under the stars. To really bring the ‘Queen Nala’ look, Dionne wore a pretty raffia crown and matching earrings from To Be Adorned. Dionne wore her hair natural with a glowing complexion and soft make up.
Beautiful Brook Farm in Cuffley, Hertfordshire is the perfect outdoor wedding venue. What really sold me was the venue’s lake, split into two with a grass-covered walkway. This lead to a small island with string lights strung in the trees. Here, we set up a tipi with a sweetheart dining area and a laid back boho fire pit area for after dark. In front of the tipi we created a carefree ceremony area with benches under the shade of the trees. If couples are thinking of a scaled back wedding, this shoot is definitely full of inspiration!
This shoot really was all about the colour, so our ‘Lion King’ Ali, wore a pastel blue suit from ASOS. Keeping this chilled with an elopement vibe, we opted for no tie, but instead a textured and eye-catching buttonhole to match the wild floral installations.Caroline Opacic Photography
