Magical Winter Aswarby Rectory Wedding

Photography by Adam Bird Weddings

Having travelled the world together for 17 years, Kathryn & Ryan knew they wanted a magical winter wedding to celebrate their love of Scandinavia. The couple were blessed with the best winter's day. There were beautiful clear skies, a crisp frost and a dusting of snow to make it picture-perfect. The bride and groom aimed to make everything as warm and welcoming as possible and asked many of their friends to speak throughout the ceremony and reception. They achieved an enchanting atmosphere of one large, loving family coming together to celebrate Kat & Ryan’s love. The couple had the incredible Recommended Supplier, Adam Bird Weddings, to capture their special day. Plus, Kat’s beautiful gown was found at Recommended Supplier, Bellamme Bridal.

It was really important to us that our suppliers were passionate, creative, independent, and, where possible, local to Lincolnshire. When we designed the wedding menu, it was important to us that not only was the food of outstanding quality but that the ingredients were seasonal and showcased the best Lincolnshire produce for the many guests attending from overseas. The suppliers we chose were talented and totally understood our aesthetic. All had such a warm, caring energy about them that we knew we wanted with us on our wedding day.

Winter Wedding at Aswarby Rectory

As Kat & Ryan’s wedding was in the middle of winter, it was important that the styling felt warm, classy and cosy. Aswarby Rectory was decked out with roaring fires and hundreds of tapered candles, glasses of red wine and a warming roast dinner. This wedding certainly showcased the best of the season. The colour palette consisted of warming burgundy and navy tones, to avoid the feeling of Christmas but still embrace the winter season. The florals comprised of seasonal berries, holly, and mistletoe. Everything about the styling was meaningful, with a French vintage touch.

Festive Red Bridesmaid Dresses

It was important to Kat & Ryan that their readings and music had a sentimental touch. The couple were lucky to have many dear friends who wrote and performed personal readings, speeches, poems and toasts, as well as music! What a talented bunch! We can’t stop admiring the beautiful wedding party in those festive red bridesmaid dresses. Your wedding day can go so quickly! Try to take some time for just you and your new beau. Kat & Ryan walked the country lane together in the minus temperatures to see the beautiful church and take in the fact that they had just got married.

Our photographer, Adam Bird, really is talented beyond measure. Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but he is also the most kind, warm and genuine person. We knew as soon as we spoke with him that he was the photographer we wanted to capture our special day. He made us both feel so comfortable, building our confidence to be in front of the camera.
