WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE
"The day reflected our fun and playful personalities and encouraged everyone else to do the same. The feeling of the day was relaxed but fun and it ended up feeling somewhere between a village fete and a festival We had a very personal ceremony including a ring warming, handfasting and a stormtrooper. Our celebrant Michelle got our guests participating which gave a great atmosphere, we didn't have a formal dinner so people were free to move around and chat to different people. After the BBQ everyone joined in with the tug of war, sack races and three-legged races which were great fun!" - Kim & Damon
Midi Wedding Skirt
The bride wore a two-piece gown consisting of a midi wedding skirt from Reiss and a beautifully embellished top from Topshop which was styled perfectly with a pair of Vivienne Westwood 'Melissa' shoes and a bright heart fashion accessory, perfect choice for this fun-filled day. The look was completed with a paper rose flower bouquet handmade by the bride and red lipstick! Framed beautifully by the bridesmaids also with beautiful bouquets from Bloom and Wild and ribbon decorations, which complimented the bright and colourful decor and in keeping with the village fete style.
INSPIRATION & STYLING
"We wanted the day to be fun, happy and relaxed and the idea of a formal wedding just didn't feel right for us. We wanted people to be free to move around and enjoy the space. The original idea was to keep things simple by having a village fete theme but as plans evolved and things like glitter balls got included the theme morphed into 'Kim & Damon' - e.g. if we liked it, it was in! The styling was pretty haphazard - knew we wanted lots of colours and we are quite a crafty family so we made the bunting between us, the bride made all the tassels which were very patiently strung together by her friends the day before and the arch was a last-minute DIY project by the Bride & Groom with help from the Groom's Mum & Stepdad. The Brides Mum has a vintage china hire business so we were very lucky to be able to use that." - Kim & Damon
