Errol Park isn’t the only thing that looks gorgeous during this wedding; check out Sarah in her Bon Bride dress! We’re loving that open back. Wanting an informal and relaxed day, Sarah and Grant opted for beautiful florals and minimalistic tablescapes. We love the rustic yet refined look the venue offers, complete with wooden beams and twinkling fairy lights. Of course, Sarah is bang on trend with her pearl headband! We also suggest you read on for the fire engine story…
All of our suppliers, but particularly Colin, the estate manager at Errol Park, were really invaluable over our weekend and stepped in to help when things didn't got to plan. For example, when a fire engine turned up during our canapé reception. The searing of multiple venison haunches combined with some unseasonably hot Scottish weather tripped the fire alarm in the stables kitchen. I barely even noticed, and I don't think there could be a better testament to Colin, the Ginger Snap catering team and my Maids Of Honour!

We wanted the day to feel relaxed and informal, that every detail had been carefully considered and deliberately chosen. I think we essentially just wanted to give the people we love the most fun weekend we could. Food and drink were very important to us! We knew early on that we would prioritise this budget-wise. Ginger Snap was outstanding, we spent a long time with family and friends trying different wines to match their menu. We didn't want conventional wedding styling and went a bit wilder with flowers but minimalist on the tables and with my wedding dress.
I think our favourite moment of the day was when we had a few moments alone, just before one of Grant's best friends, Ross, piped us into the wedding breakfast. It was a few quiet minutes to take everything in before a very raucous and overwhelmingly emotional entrance into a room filled with people we love. Kristian captured it so beautifully in his photographs. We asked the people giving readings to choose something without telling us so that it would be something very personal to them and a surprise for us on the day. We think it worked really well.
We didn't have a wedding planner, yet decided to plan each aspect of the wedding separately; venue, three different caterers, separate alcohol suppliers, two florists, a band, separate music for our ceremony etc. I have quite a demanding job and it was very stressful. A total labour of love to pull it all off! If you're going to be picky and involve so many different people, get a planner!
