Lucy & Jon's wedding day was minimalistic with an editorial twist. The aesthetic complimented Recommended venue, Southend Barns, perfectly! It has such a timeless quality to it. The couple included an incredible smores station in their day. We absolutely need this in our garden! It's such a fun way to serve food to your guests. The bridal party was completed with dark green bridesmaid dresses from Recommended supplier, Rewritten Bridesmaids! Some of the pretty minimalist stationery was from Recommended supplier, Lilac and White. Lucy & Jon also had day time band and an evening band! They chose their evening band, Tropic, via Recommended supplier, Tailored Entertainment. Plus, the couple chose Recommended supplier, The Wedding Shop, for their gift list.
Your wedding day is honestly like the biggest bubble! You've been so stressed for months and then the morning of you're so nervous. Because of this, we had a cocktail hour after our wedding breakfast where guests could enjoy an espresso martini or mojito! It was our favourite time of the day. The nerves had gone, we had both relaxed and we could enjoy a drink and our amazing band with our family and friends!

Lucy & Jon's day was a mix of classic Scandinavian and Country styles. The couple both have a very minimal style, so it was important to keep a calm, sophisticated, and chic feel. Lucy & Jon both love neutral colours too hence the editorial-esque vibe. Lucy is a fashion designer and Jon is in web design, so they both are perfectionists and every small detail was discussed. This meant they spent quite a while finding the right suppliers, but they wouldn't have changed any of them for the world, they were all absolutely perfect! The couple found most of their suppliers via Instagram. But those dark green bridesmaid dresses from Rewritten Bridesmaids are winners for us!
Lucy & Jon opted to get married a month before the wedding and have a celebrant on the actual wedding day instead. This made their day more special with a beautiful personalised ceremony that captured their lives so far! They also had a ring-warming ceremony as part of it all. Lucy considers herself a control freak, so dress shopping was not her idea of fun. She ended up buying both of her dresses from Net-A-Porter and then had them altered. Lucy only ever tried on two dresses and ended up loving and keeping them both, which is why she had a day and night dress! Two dresses are always better than one!
Book your photographer, make-up/hair, and entertainment as soon as you know the venue! We were so lucky that the suppliers we wanted were available but we were definitely pushing it. Luckily, because we had an October wedding, which is slightly less popular, they were all available. However, most of them did say that it was one of their only free weekends! We didn't have a stylist or wedding planner, so a PowerPoint was so necessary - it keeps all of your planning/themes in one place and is amazing to send suppliers to follow your vision!
