Winter Romance In The Cotswolds

Before sharing this shoot, I was a little worried that it may feel to Wintery for the time of year. I don't think I could have been more wrong!!! February has been absolutely baltic and it's actually quite lovely to see these images, which really embrace the cold weather. The deep colours are so warming and the bold make up looks very striking against the pale grey skies of a Winter scene in the Cotswolds. I'm loving the use of feathers and ribbon in the bouquet - it adds another dimension to the texture and is perfect styling for the stately Cornwell Manor, a former hunting lodge set in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The Venue

Chris the Photographer: This rural and mature country manor, renowned for the hunting scene is nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, Cornwell Manor seemed the perfect choice for a styled shoot. With this being the first ever wedding inspiration shoot at this location - we as a team are excited to share every part of it! From stunning outside spaces that include a lake, a church and lots of horses, the wintery landscape was exceptionally impressive.

The Styling

Subtle rich colours, along with regal looking lace dresses and a beautiful model, makes this shoot a true English classic. Emma from The Flower Girls sourced excellent suppliers to help collaborate her vision of rustic yet sophisticated styling.

The Dresses

Model Kristi from Poppys Events – became our English rose. She wore a variety of of stunning dresses from the Ellie Lowe collection.

The Beauty

Wedding Paint: The feel for this shoot was rich and seasonal. So I worked with The Flower Girls on this season's palette, gold and plum for makeup. The eye lids are completely split with gold loose pigment on the inner half and shimmery warm burgundy on the outer corner. We wanted a bluey tone on the lips so I mixed a Mac purple and Dior Indian red. Skin was clear and cheeks were a cherry rose.
