After video chatting with Aga before our arrival to Scotland, we knew we picked a great photographer. She seemed like she understood what we wanted, was very willing to try out new areas, and made us feel more confident in our wedding day. When that day came, a lot of our plans were forced to change. A once in a lifetime event happen the day before our wedding day that caused a lot of road closures and even made our ceremony spot unreachable. Aga and our celebrant were aware of the issues and worked together very quickly that morning to come up with a new location. This kind of stress on anyone could ruin a wedding day, but somehow we didn’t have worries knowing that Aga and our celebrant were already trying to come up with a plan. Aga was focused on making our wedding day special.
Aga came to where we were staying first and got to work quickly taking photos. These photos we really treasure. It shows a lot of details that went into planning and preparation for our big day. We didn’t really have time for any of these photos, but in what felt like 20 mins, Aga was able to get a great collection of pre-ceremony photos.
Since Aga is a local to Edinburgh and has taken photos in many different places around the city, she had great ideas on where we could go for the ceremony. We decided on a spot that looked and felt very similar to our original ceremony spot, so we were satisfied. I wanted nature photos, not city photos, and that’s what we got. Aga still made us take photos with the city view though, and I trusted her judgement. Now we are so glad we did photos with the city view. They’re breathtaking, and it actually shows in the distance the spot where our ceremony was originally supposed to be. The story of how our plans changed can now be seen in our photos. They tell the story of what was happening and what we did to make changes.
It was supposed to rain all day, but in Scotland, it can’t be predicted. It only rained lightly at the end of our ceremony. My grand idea of getting photos by the beach with a castle in the distance was tentative due to rain, but we decided we were going to try. Aga had gone to that spot a few days before our wedding to see how accessible it was, check the tide times, and get ideas for good shots. She let us know what time to go was best because we were planning on standing on the rocks by the shore. We needed a low tide in order to do that. I’m so glad Aga was able to go beforehand and check it out. That to me was above and beyond our expectations.
Aga came prepared for getting dirty and possibly wet. It all ended up being very well worth it. She occasionally gave us direction on how to pose and where to stand which was very helpful. We are seriously amazed at how well these photos turned out and are so thankful we picked a photographer who was very flexible with her time and gave us expert suggestions.
We definitely recommend Aga for elopements or any other photography. She has a great eye for good shots and makes the style of the photos moody yet natural. Thank you Aga for capturing our special day.
