Anran Devon Wedding Venue

Photography by Grace Elizabeth Photography

Laura and Hugo’s wedding is truly a sight to behold at the incredible Anran Devon wedding venue. Yes, another wedding at one of our favourite ever wedding venues, we’re just grinning with joy. Of course, that is due to Laura & Hugo ticking off every single one of our boxes. Epic flowers, hanging macrame chandeliers, and DIY sloe gin favours to name a few! Recommended Suppliers, Virginia’s Vintage Hire and The Natural Hire Company were on hand for decor! Music was the main theme of this wedding as this couple met at a festival! Musical threads ran throughout the day. From Hugo’s best man performing a surprise song in his speech, to Hugo playing in his band with Laura joining in on the sax! Capturing all the adventure of this day was Recommended Supplier, Grace Elizabeth Photography. The couple also chose Recommended Supplier, Prezola, for their gift list. Plus, Laura had Recommended Supplier, Justine Kendall Bridal Makeup, to glam her up for the day!

We wanted to support local suppliers, so everyone we worked with (apart from the band) was from Devon. We used Rock My Wedding, Google, and Instagram, along with recommendations from Anran to find suppliers. Grace Elizabeth was someone we found before she became one of your Recommended Suppliers via Instagram. Finding a photographer was actually the most difficult task. We became overwhelmed with choice and because Instagram accounts only showcase the very best, it takes a lot of time to look through photographer's galleries!

Anran Devon Wedding Venue

Laura & Hugo fell in love with Anran as soon as they saw it. How could you not fall in love with that natural light? Because of the natural beauty of the Anran Devon wedding venue, the couple didn't overcomplicate the styling. All the furniture and decor were natural wood. The tables were kept bare with foliage runners, gold candlesticks, and natural linen napkins. The hanging macrame chandeliers were the perfect addition to the glorious glass house wedding venue. Luckily this couple could rely on the talent of their family and friends! Hugo's mum created all the flower arrangements and Hugo's step-mum baked and decorated the three-tier cake. Laura & Hugo's friend designed a graphic, which they used on their website and order of service. Sloe gin favours made by Hugo's dad and step-mum and limoncello made by Laura's friend, Loz. What are friends for, after all?

Music Wedding Theme

Music was at the heart of Laura & Hugo's day at the Anran Devon wedding venue. Again, the couple could rely on their talented friends and family! Hugo’s sister and best man performed during the ceremony, friends performed during the drinks reception, another friend DJ’ed the after-party and Hugo’s band got back together to kick off the dancing, with Laura making a special and surprise appearance playing the sax (something she'd agreed to do whilst tipsy the night the couple got engaged!). But some of the best musical performances came unplanned. The two best women gave a musical medley during their speech based on the Sound of Music (Laura's fave film). The best man wrote and performed a song about how the couple had met, which completely blew everyone away! For their wedding reading, Laura & Hugo chose this extract from Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton.

Ask your suppliers for their advice. They’ve seen it all! Ask them what works well and what doesn’t work so well.
On the day, try to keep your guests together. Don’t give them a reason to disperse and don’t keep them in the same place for too long if you can, move them around.
