Caramel, Raspberry and Rust Wedding Theme at Radnor Rooms, Bristol

Photography by Leesha Williams Photography

This caramel, raspberry and rust wedding theme has to be one of the most delicious colour combinations we have ever seen, complemented with black and gold accents to give it even more impact. From the wedding flowers, through to the table decor and bridal headdress, you are going to be wowed from start to finish. Organised by Rock My Wedding recommended supplier, Elizabeth Weddings and featuring many more of our recommended suppliers. Now, are you sitting comfortably?

Vision

We wanted to create a romantic, bohemian, luxe and relaxed/wild themed wedding styled shoot. We chose a colour palette of rust, caramel and pink and used both fresh and dried flowers and foliage with touches of raspberry colour, black and gold.

Inspiration & Styling

Using structured shaped flowers such as roses this added formality and structure, creating a more luxury appearance. We combined this with a cloud-like texture to create a relaxed look for a much more soft and romantic feel. Our concept was formed from wanting to create something luxurious but with a bohemian twist. Using a lot of the caramel, rust and raspberry colours made the shoot really rich in tones, creating the most beautiful autumnal vibe. We chose Radnor Rooms as our venue because we wanted a venue that was bit stripped back, with bare bricks and exposed walls. An added bonus was that the venue already had the perfect coloured raspberry sofa and chaise longue to tie in with our theme.

Tablescape

The Edmond Trestle table and Bentwood chairs were of a lovely dark wood, which worked so well with the venue, on the table we laid a hand-dyed silk caramel shade runner down the middle. Lucy created the floral centrepiece that fitted perfectly with our concept. She introduced lots of texture by using fluffy feather-like grasses in shades of dusty pinks and orange/brown to contrast against fresh blooms in caramel shades. Flowers used included golden garden roses and cafe au lait dahlias with the odd pop of raspberry. There was the addition of a show stopper vanda orchid in a mottled coral that enhanced the bridal bouquet and table centrepiece to make it feel much more luxurious. We decided to avoid pampas grass for this shoot as although typically ‘boho’ we felt it had been done many times before so instead opted for the grasses and trailing dyed asparagus fern as alternatives to achieve the modern luxe boho aesthetic. We wanted the floral table centrepiece to feel quite abundant and luxurious so had fresh blooms in all the concept colours climbing on top of each other in an organic and asymmetrical manner, spilling over the centrepiece with loose foliage draping over the bowl.

Decor & Details

To the table, we added black and gold candlestick holders with caramel shade taper candles from Ester & Erik and glass tea light holders. We finished dressing the table centrepiece with fresh fruit such as pomegranate, blackberries, raspberries and figs to add that extra black and raspberry colour. Each place setting had a rattan charger plate to give a boho feel with pink cut glassware, matt black cutlery, modern-looking matt black dinner plates, salmon pink monogrammed napkins and simple handmade menu cards and place names cards. The menu and name cards in blush pink shades were added on top of the plate. Sarah made peach shade coloured iced biscuits with gold leaf and embossed detail to bring contrast from the plate, we also added a handmade artisan lollipop from Sugar Pop in the colour palette of pink and raspberry, with a gold “Crazy In Love” design, with black and raspberry shade of silk ribbons. Lucy also created the lovely corner backdrop for our wedding breakfast table and sofa with dried grasses and beautiful blooms in caramel, rust and raspberry shades. The shoot was finished with the all-important neon sign. We chose the neon heart because it could be held and placed in different ways, definitely something a little bit more special to add to the shoot.

Rust Wedding Theme

A rust wedding theme has become hugely popular in bohemian weddings, adding richness to an otherwise natural colour palette with varying shades of orange and copper. By adding caramel and raspberry accents to this popular hue you instantly lift the colour further giving it a more luxurious and sumptuous look. We love the use of different textures, flowers and grasses within the decor and flowers, especially the velvet sofa which complemented the ribbon on the bouquet perfectly. Plus how about those bridal crowns?!

Fashion & Beauty

Our beautiful model Latisha wore the ‘Cheryl’ dress with detachable skirt ‘Beale’ we specifically chose this dress because it was modern, elegant and very classy. Both items are by Halfpenny London. With the dress, we introduced “The Audrey” embroidered script veil provided by Rebecca which featured an Audrey Hepburn quote of “the best thing to hold on to in life is each other” which felt very fitting for a shoot so soon after lockdown. With all the uncertainty at the moment, it was definitely a lovely reminder. Emma did a wonderful job of styling Latisha’s hair with a relaxed tied up look, to suit the bohemian vibe but also classy style.

Accessories

Hermione provided three beautiful accessories. Firstly the Titania Black Crown is a crown of golden leaves embellished with dazzling black Swarovski crystals. The Artemis Garland combined with Artemis Hairpins created a stunning display of scattered golden starbursts with Swarovski crystal centres. Finally, the last piece that was featured was the Lyra Halo in gold, a gorgeous halo of freshwater pearl blossoms embellished with pearl and crystal tendrils throughout. All with matching earrings. We thought the star piece of the day was the Titania Black Crown, we had spotted it a while back and thought it would be absolutely perfect with both the touches of gold and black, though not too much gold and the black! It was just enough to add texture and to break up the gold a little bit and to create that all-important statement piece for the bride.

Cake Table

The shoot also featured a cake table with some mini desserts. The centrepiece was a two-tier rust/caramel wedding cake finished with swiss meringue buttercream, gold leaf and fresh fruit created by Sarah. We decided on a two-tier because it looked quite modern and sophisticated. We also wanted to add other nibbles to the table with mini vanilla & white chocolate cheesecakes topped with fresh berries. A floral piece, pomegranate, figs, blackberries and raspberries and candlestick holders dress the table.
