Port Lympne Wildlife Park Wedding

Photography by Weddings by Emma Olivia

Welcome to the jungle! Well, not really, but this safari wedding at Port Lympne Wildlife Park in Kent is pretty close to it. This bride and groom even got to hang out with Kevin the Rhino and feed him! This editorial shoot is all about combining romance with adventure! The day was captured and planned by the incredible Recommended Supplier, Weddings by Emma Olivia. Behind the styling, decor and flowers was Recommended Supplier, A Touch of Kent! The vibe for the day embraced that natural side of things with a neutral colour palette and boho wedding fashion.

Port Lympne Wildlife Park safari wedding - it’s not every day you get married and feed some rhinos!

As a UK and destination wedding photographer (and a total travel lover), I wanted to create a shoot that was inspired by my love for love stories, adventure, wildlife and prioritising memories over commodities.

Port Lympne Wildlife Park Wedding

Port Lympne Wildlife Park ticked all of the boxes for this shoot and is perfect for unique, down-to-earth, adventure-loving couples who want a luxury wedding whilst supporting the wonderful Aspinall Foundation, an animal charity that works to save endangered animals and return them to the wild. The stunning mansion house, pergola and orangery are set on a hill with the most gorgeous views of the coast. The orangery was covered in hanging vines, roses and neutral linens with gypsophila and candelabras. The styling, decor and flowers were all in honey and caramel tones. The intention was to use the African savannah to play on Port Lympne’s safari surroundings.

Wedding Fashion & Styling

When styling the couple, they wanted to achieve a natural and wild boho look, so the bride’s make-up was golden and glowy while the hair was natural and curly in a braid away from the face and was accessorised by a stunning hairpiece. For the fashion, the groom wore a neutral-toned suit and added a pop of colour with an orange tie to keep with the theme. The bride wore a boho lace wedding dress from Sophie Habboo’s collection with Coast. The bridal look wouldn’t be complete without the pearl-embellished veil by Recommended Supplier, Rebecca Anne Designs, and stunning accessories from Recommended Supplier, Sarah Roberts London

As for details, our stationery was a hand-painted watercolour of the mansion house, with little details of the animals in simple line drawings as well as watercolour giraffes to add to that personal touch and luxury feel. For our cake, we didn’t want just a standard cake, but instead wanted a dessert area that spoke to our fun vibe. With gooey brownies, heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies and a delicious chocolate and caramel sponge, the cake area was a feature not to be missed, framed beautifully by the same flower columns as from the ceremony.

The Port Lympne ceremony area in the pergola was framed with beautiful flower columns and glimmering candles for the ultimate romantic feel. In case you didn’t know, wedding flower columns are one of our favourite ways to decorate the altar! They’re also a perfect backdrop for your wedding breakfast! Love the boho look? You NEED to see these boho wedding dresses
