Minimalist Aswarby Rectory Wedding

Aimee & Daniel had a gorgeous Aswarby Rectory wedding. Not only does this wedding feature Recommended Supplier, The Burbage Booth Co, but the bride is Recommended Supplier, The Blissful Bride, herself! This minimalist and classic wedding was all inspired by a thin, straight black line. Yes, you did read that correctly. Using bold black accents, modern matte black outfits, stationery, and decor, with softening dusky pinks, this colour palette is to die for and was all inspired by a thin line. Including a love letter from Daniel’s grandad to his nanna as their wedding reading, a surprise game of whodunnit and incredible singing waiters, this is not a day to miss!

Being a planner and stylist myself, I was always going to plan and style our day but it really was a collaboration between the two of us. We both worked together on a theme and Daniel commissioned a furniture company in Norfolk to create some bespoke pieces that fit the ceremony space at Aswarby Rectory perfectly.

Aswarby Rectory Wedding

Aimee & Daniel wanted their Aswarby Rectory wedding to be fun, entertaining, and relaxed. They didn't stick to the normal wedding traditions and instead did what felt like them. The couple travelled to the venue together, had a first look before the ceremony, chose to have no cakes, performed a joint wedding speech and displayed all the other wedding speeches around the wedding venue instead of having them read out! Finally, instead of a first dance, Aimee & Daniel filled the dance floor and kicked the party off with an incredible brass band. The whole day was inspired by a simple black line. Yep. Just a fine line. It was continued throughout the stationery, styling and even the jewellery and tie clips. To soften the black accents, the couple had a dusky pink colour in the stationery and flowers.

Outfits and Entertainment

Aimee & Daniel had plenty of wedding entertainment to ensure everyone fully enjoyed the day. Aimee created a whodunnit game inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Aimee wrote a whodunnit case about guests and hid clues around the venue for guests to find and solve. Once they guessed, they completed a card and popped it in a box. At 10 pm the couple drew a winner and they won a £50 restaurant voucher. Everyone loved it and there was no wastage from unwanted wedding favours. At the wedding breakfast, the couple also had singing waiters! They both said it was the best decision ever. The bridesmaids wore high-street black bridesmaid dresses. The groom and groomsmen wore black matte three-piece suits. Aimee wore a Madi Lane wedding dress with chunky berry velvet sandals.

Daniel's grandparents are his role models and sadly are no longer with us so we chose a love letter that his grandad wrote his nanna on their one-year wedding anniversary whilst stationed with the army as our wedding reading. It was read by Daniel's cousin, Kristian. There was not a dry eye in the house. They really felt part of the ceremony.

Aimee & Daniel's Aswarby Rectory wedding is unforgettable because the couple made it so unique to them. Deciding to forgo certain wedding traditions, Aimee & Daniel had no wedding cake and no first dance.
