Eleanor & Kane managed to strike the balance between retro and contemporary perfectly. The couple tied the knot at Recommended Venue, The Canary Shed, and opted for a vibrant colour palette of green, lilac and pink across the fashion, decor and flowers. When we saw these wedding flowers our jaws dropped, and then we saw they were by Recommended Florist, Honey Bunch, and everything made sense. Honey Bunch never fails to blow us away with their stunning creations. The couple wanted a retro disco theme that still felt timeless and they completely nailed that. For yummy food, the couple had Recommended Supplier, Chop & Chip Co, and for decor, the amazing Recommended Supplier, Streamadelica, provided the goods. Also, shout out to Eleanor’s hair, which deserves a whole article on its own. When we say princess wedding hair, this is exactly what we picture. GORGEOUS!
Your wedding day is all about you and your partner, so make it truly yours. Don’t let others' opinions sway your decisions. As long as you stay true to yourselves, you’ll love every moment, and your day will feel completely authentic.
Eleanor & Kane
Eleanor & Kane chose to marry at The Canary Shed and the deciding factor was actually the venue's ceiling that features vibrant, colourful hanging canary bird decorations! Yep, the name is quite literal! It was something the couple hadn’t seen at any other wedding location and they knew it was something that would add to the uniqueness of their wedding. It was important to Eleanor & Kane to include roses and poppies in the decor to represent their nationalities— roses as the national flower of Britain and poppies for Poland. From there, the couple brought in their love for disco music and vibrant colours, featuring retro shades of green, lilac and pink. Together, these elements created the perfect retro disco theme for the day.
Besides the decor, everyone dressed the part too! The bridal party were wearing dark green satin pleated bridesmaid dresses from Abercrombie & Fitch while the groomsmen wore light pink wedding suits! It struck that balance of traditional and contemporary at the same time and went perfectly with the retro disco theme. Eleanor looked beautiful in a Margaux Tardits wedding dress with mesh long sleeves that added elegance to her bridal look. For the reception entrance, Eleanor & Kane made it fun by walking in as One More Time by Daft Punk played. The couple wore helmets and glasses inspired by the iconic duo. It was an element that completely reflected their personalities since they both absolutely love that song!
We designed and printed all of our stationery and used a Cricut machine to cut the prints into fun, retro shapes. The Cricut was a fantastic investment! We also made 200 pom-poms for the chair backers with the help of family and friends. It was a creative project that added a personal touch while bringing everyone together for some fun.
