Alice & Alex married at Recommended venue, Middleton Lodge Estate. The perfect place for a modern romantic wedding. But the cherry on top of this day is Alice’s wedding dress with a bow on the back! Talk about an unforgettable bridal look. It's even more unforgettable when you discover that Alice was 5 months pregnant! What a special day. The couple even included a gender reveal during their wedding reception. Recommended supplier, Bates + Bates Photography, did an amazing job at capturing this gorgeous day and THAT wedding dress with a bow!
We have two favourite moments of the day. The first was finally seeing so many friends we haven’t seen in so long! And the second, is that we did a quiz during the wedding breakfast and one of the questions was “what is the gender of our baby?”. So we did a gender reveal on our wedding day!
Alice & Alex
Alice & Alex's wedding took place in the summer of 2021 when, here in the UK, we were shortly getting some normality back after covid. Because of this, and the fact that celebrating and catching up was the most meaningful part to Alice & Alex, they chose to keep their ceremony short with 60 of their loved ones present. The couple had so many contingency plans because everything was so uncertain back then. But their day was perfect and made even more special by seeing people they hadn't seen in two years come together for the wedding. It was the most magical feeling for them!
Deciding on a dress was a bit of a process for Alice as the wedding dates kept changing due to covid rules. And then she found out she was pregnant and had to factor that in too! She ended up deciding on the pretty Sally Bean Couture wedding dress with bow for her day, which absolutely stole the show! Alice lost her makeup and hair supplier and turned to her mum and her friend to help out, which she is so grateful for! The couple chose Middleton Lodge for its beauty and because it accommodates a number of different party sizes and the couple wasn't certain about their guest list (again due to covid).
Our advice would be to go away and individually work out your top 5 ideals you want from your wedding. Then come together and work out how you can make it all work. For us, our joint top ideal was having our nearest dearest there with us on the day, which is why it was right for us to postpone so many times.
