Looking for gorgeous custom wedding dress sleeves? Well, we’re pretty sure Becky completed it. With only three weeks notice, Becky & Tom’s wedding was thrown into uncertainty. But with the help of Ripley Arts Centre, they were able to say their I-do’s. Their day was spent surrounded by close family and friends, and plenty of champagne!
Planning a wedding in 2020 was a real rollercoaster! There was no blueprint, no certainty, and for a long time no guidance whatsoever. By the time the day came round we felt like we had planned about 5 weddings and were utterly relieved we had made it to the day!Becky & Tom
Standing at the front of the church with Tom - it was surreal. We decided quite late to stream the service (not Zoom!) and we could feel everyone with us, knowing our friends and family were watching from afar. A few even surprised us by waiting outside the church (in the rain!) which was amazing. We had champagne and confetti with them - it was wonderful to have them be part of the day.
For current times... try to be flexible and keep in mind what's important to you - for us that was having our immediate family there and getting married. One thing this year has really shown us is that anything can happen and that life is short. My beloved grandpa very sadly died from covid in a care home in late spring, and it really hammered home to me the importance of family and how we needed to seize the moment (if we could). The party will happen (we owe so many people some serious celebrations!) but it can wait!
We will definitely be having a big party when we can, but we're not sure how 'weddingy' that will be, so we were keen to keep all the traditions and a sense of occasion about the day, despite its size.Becky & Tom
