Villa Balbiano

Villa Balbiano Elopement

Photography by Stefano Cassaro Photography

If you’re looking for breathtaking, then look no further than this whimsical Villa Balbiano wedding. When it seemed like all the odds were against them, Natalie & Robert made the decision to elope. With Lake Como as their inspiration, and focusing on what they really wanted, this gorgeous couple said their I-do’s against a backdrop fit for the big screen. The styling looks straight out of an editorial, and the floral installations are just… well, we’re picking up our jaw off the floor right now, let’s put it that way! Natalie looks beautiful in her bespoke tulle and lace dress, finished with a gossamer cape, which we are obsessing over! Seriously, if you do anything today, we would suggest staring at these pictures… just a little longer…

We used the wonderful natural beauty that is Lake Como as our inspiration. The styling was also designed by the wonderful Deborah Hayes, owner of Flowers and Me.

It was the end result of a very long journey. We cancelled our reception because no guests could come from Australia. Persisted with our original wedding date, caught Covid 4 days before we were due to fly out. Multiple lockdowns with no end in sight. A looming visa expiry coming up, and new Italian quarantine restrictions introduced 2 weeks before our new wedding date, we finally made it! This journey made us really focus on what was important to us, and that is that we have each other. Our wedding planner (Georgia Louise Weddings) was our absolute rock throughout all the stress of planning a wedding in a pandemic. She was supportive, always available, flexible and could always make us laugh through hard times.

We love the use of such neutral tones and white throughout. It works perfectly against the eye-catching backdrops!
