Welcome to the Urban Jungle in Suffolk - a venue where the cool vibes of the city meet earthy botanicals for the perfect paradox in this shoot by The Wedding Planners. If you're looking for wedding inspiration a step away from the conventional, then we're happy to say this is it. We're talking disco balls, jumpsuits and a bold orange eye inspired by the exotic plants that is just to die for! Of course, an impeccably dressed bride and some cocktails don't go amiss, and we've definitely had our head turned by that neon sign...
We took the effortlessly cool beating heart of a city wedding, added three bold bridal looks, handmade jewellery, cocktails and neon 'good vibes' and threw it inside a jungle. I wanted to keep the looks strong and the details simple.Victoria Ewing - The Wedding Planners
The style for the shoot was full of happy contradictions that are giving us all of the feels. Bridal luxe in a cactus house. Urban accents against exotic plants. Industrial triangular arches and disco balls juxtaposing Persian rugs. What's not to love? From the jungle-themed bouquet to the all-white three tiered textured cake, for this shoot it was all about the details. Even the simple stationery and centrepieces had a botanical twist, showing that paring back your decor doesn't mean it can't make a statement.
Big wedding day means big wedding dress right? Wrong. The first look of an 70s inspired Lillian West jumpsuit is the perfect example of a wedding dress alternative. It can bring a fresh edginess to your bridal look, not to mention the all-important comfort element. The second look was a one shoulder minimalist number from Maddox, which is bringing us the shoulder train we never knew we needed (but will now be coveting). A future bridal trend of bold square neck-lines can be seen in the final look from Rachel Rose Bridal. Sleek, and eye-catching couture that just oozes decadence.
The focus throughout the shoot was contrasting elements. Our tableware was modern, clean and minimalistic. The introduction of the more rustic furniture from Urban Jungle Suffolk created a counterpoint to this, with the raw top tables and beautifully mis-matched chairs. The Wedding Planners
This shoot has left tradition behind and shown us there is no right way to do a wedding. Nothing is off the table (especially not neon signs) and the more contrasts, the better! If you're dreaming of a botanical wedding in a white jumpsuit or getting married under a disco ball, who's to stop you popping off to Urban Jungle in Suffolk and doing it? Not us. In fact, we'd love an invite...
