A bespoke wedding ceremony at The Asylum Chapel followed by a stylish wedding reception at Recommended Venue, 100 Barrington?! Oh, you just know this is gonna be a good one! Truley & Rob had a black tie wedding in London to the soundtrack of their love story. For this couple, music is so important! With 2 DJs, playlists, a string trio and a saxophonist, it’s safe to say that everyone’s dancing shoes were certainly well worn in. “Why else is this wedding absolutely epic?” We hear you ask. Well, it’s because of all the incredible Recommended Suppliers in this wedding! Truley & Rob chose Recommended Suppliers, Lil & Blue, for their vintage wedding car, Flutter, Darlings! for their incredible confetti, and Paper Belles for their beautiful wedding stationery. Conducting their personal ceremony was Recommended Supplier, India Bel Ceremonies. Plus, the iconic Recommended Supplier, Mark Horton Photos, captured this wonderful day.
We've had so many people tell us that our wedding was unique because it felt exactly like "us". By that, I think they mean that it was obvious we chose to do the things we love and wanted, all day. From the personalised celebrant ceremony to the house music DJ playing upon guests’ arrival at 100 Barrington, we loved every single minute, which meant our guests did too.
Truley & Rob
When asked to describe the vibe of their wedding day, Truley & Rob said, “Fun!” They wanted to keep the energy up all day. The couple started the day with a lot of romance at The Asylum Chapel. For this venue, the couple kept the styling minimal with flowers and let the unique venue speak for itself. Then, when it came to the reception at 100 Barrington, Truley & Rob wanted it to feel like a party as soon as you walked through the doors. Disco balls, bright colours and music were essential. Music was a huge thing for the lovebirds and they had performances throughout the whole day. Starting with a string trio at The Asylum, a daytime DJ for welcome drinks, a rocking playlist made by Rob for the wedding breakfast, and an evening DJ with a saxophonist for the reception!
Truley & Rob had AMAZING wedding suppliers that brought their perfect day to life. They paid special thanks to Mark (photographer) and Jade (videographer) who made the day epic. India (wedding celebrant) who smashed it! So many of Truley & Rob’s guests have since told the couple how personal the ceremony was. All of these guys can be found in our Recommended Supplier directory! Sadly, Truely’s mum passed away unexpectedly in 2021, so there was of course a huge part missing on the day. The couple made sure her presence was felt and honoured her in many personal ways. One of these included the personalised veil. Truley had her mum's handwriting stitched on so she could be with Truley and her dad whilst they walked down the aisle.
Truley & Rob had some excellent advice on wedding planning that we had to include. The couple said, “Go with your gut, there were times when we felt pressured to do all the traditional things (like have a fancy wedding cake) but we just felt it wasn't us. And that is probably another thing, to really remember that this day is about you and not just about pleasing your guests, if they love you, they will love the day.” Truley & Rob used to take time out in the planning process to make a moment of it together. They’d take the wedding planning book to the pub to talk through ideas and walk through the day together. They said that some of the best ideas came in these Sunday afternoons over a pint. We couldn’t agree more!
There are so many special moments to choose from, but our confetti entrance at 100 Barrington stands out. We'd imagined this moment for so long and practised it many many times. We walked out to the beat of Billie (Loving Arms) by Fred Again and when we came in the beat dropped in perfect timing to the confetti throws and canons going off it was just amazing! This started off the party in style and it was only early afternoon!
Truley & Rob
Truley & Rob’s wedding at 100 Barrington in London was a total fashion dream. The bridal party looked striking in black bridesmaid dresses. It’s not a colour that usually comes to mind when you think of bridesmaid dresses but they are so timeless and flattering. Truley had her own surprise wedding reception outfit change with a gold sequin jumpsuit, with a handmade glittery cape! Gorgeous!
