The B in Boho stands for (The) Barn at Avington when it comes to this glorious editorial shoot. A bit of a reach, maybe - but at Rock My Wedding, we love two things. Incredible boho and botanical-luxe-styled shoots, and tenuous wordplay. There are lots of other things we love too, of course. Like beautiful boho 3D appliqué and sheer overlay wedding dresses, especially from Recommended supplier House Of Boêmia. We also adore gorgeous, detailed wedding stationery - and Recommended supplier Created By Magic nailed that for this shoot. Finally, what's an editorial shoot without a fabulous photographer? Recommended supplier Katherine And Her Camera captured the boho brilliance, edge and warmth of this shoot perfectly. The story behind the shoot is beyond beautiful, too, as you'll find below.
We wanted to create a shoot that reflects that everyone has their own story to tell, and they should be proud to show it! Our model for this shoot was stabbed when she was 17 years old. So she is now a crime survivor who had a 1% survival rate. It was our vision to show off all types of brides, with both visible and hidden stories. We believe that each bride's wedding dress should match them and only them. No outdated traditions here. This shoot shows off our own wedding dress designs with a fierce and bold personality, to match Kayleigh's vibe.

Beautiful boho, botanical brilliance at The Barn at Avington
Set in the stunning surroundings of Hampshire, The Barn at Avington set the scene for this incredible editorial shoot. Located in a serene and idyllic setting next to the River Itchen, you will find yourself completely enveloped by the sprawling 400-acre farm. Graceful swans soar above, while deer leisurely wander through "The Glade" - an exclusive luxury glamping site concealed in nature's embrace. The wonderful mix of dried flowers in earthy tones and rich burgundy gave off the cosiest autumn vibe in this rustic country barn. Add a touch of industrial styling to keep things edgy, and you've got to the base of this shoot. A base, may we add, that we are entirely obsessed with. It's super chill, boho, and a tad punk. With a priority of bringing nature into the spotlight, the team channelled that woodland meadow forest aesthetic. This setup reflects the personality, and breaks free from the traditional norms, offering a fun and alternative experience.
Both wedding dresses in this shoot have been designed and made in the UK by Bethany & Lauren, the co-owners of House of Boêmia Bridal Boutique. These dresses are exclusive to our boutique, which is located in a renovated chapel. All our designs within our in-house collection are based on non-traditions, and the opportunity to mix and match fabrics and styles. These dresses are called Betty & Rae. The platformed Doc Martins wedding shoes also took the shine. Finally, the deep red and autumnal colours for the makeup tied it all together.
