Suzie & Sam

Photography by Miss Gen
This morning's wedding comes from the beautiful Aynhoe Park, a venue that never fails to capture our imaginations. Suzie and Sam filled the stunning spaces with elegant flowers, fun pops of gold and a photo booth - which is always a hugely popular choice with guests. Suzie wears Oscar De La Renta and looks seriously gorgeous. Her simple but elegant gown is just perfect for her. Images come from the wonderful Miss Gen, whose romantic portrayal of a wedding day is always something special.

Bride Changes Into Hot Pink Dress For Reception

Our Story

Suzie The Bride: We met in our first year at university and got engaged in August 2015, so were engaged for just over a year before our wedding day. The most important thing was for all our guests to have a good time at the wedding.

The Bride

Having tried on a number of different shaped wedding dresses, I realised that I would probably want a column dress as I'm quite slim and petite (the more puffy ones just drowned me). So the dress I picked in the end was a white, strapless column dress. I liked how simple and elegant the shape was, whilst the guipure lace fabric added some interesting detail. I changed into a different dress for the evening, which was more fun and party appropriate (bright pink) and also easier to dance in.

The Flowers

I'd seen photos online of other weddings that the florist (Scarlet & Violet) had done, and thought that their floral arrangements were beautiful without looking too obvious.

The Photography

Genevieve was recommended by another photographer that I had come across online, and I just loved the style of her photos. I thought that she really captured the joy and emotion of the weddings that she photographed. The photos were beautiful, and we loved having Genevieve as our photographer. She was extremely relaxed and friendly, which put us right at ease.

The Reception

First dance - Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat, Lucky. We picked it because it fit well for us as a couple, and also because we didn't want something too mushy or romantic. We had a string quartet for the ceremony and drinks reception, and then a DJ for dancing in the evening. We also had a photo booth, which was a big hit with all the guests.

Advice

On the day itself, don't worry about anything and just enjoy yourselves – if you have a good time, so will your guests.
