Krista & Phil’s wedding at Stratton Court Barn Bicester was written in the stars! Literally! Their day was full of crystals, birthstones, and spiritual meaning. The couple married on the day of Krista’s late grandad’s birthday, which also happened to be the autumn equinox, so not only did the day have a celestial theme but the universe itself was telling them this would be a perfect day! They also bought their handsome fur baby with them and he participated in the first dance. To fit the theme Krista & Phil had a magnificent midnight blue wedding cake completed by Recommended supplier, Terre et Lune Cake Design.
We used small businesses we knew and loved before planning the wedding. The few new suppliers we got had been found online, after hours of searching! We went with our gut feeling with a lot of them. It was lockdown whilst we were planning, and a lot of initial chat was done over Zoom. With all of our suppliers, we felt they were the right fit for the day we wanted and ultimately got our vibe.
Krista & Phil
Stratton Court Barn Bicester is an intimate venue that coincides beautifully with all the intimate and personal touches in Krista & Phil’s day. Krista wore jewellery with her birthstone and a special charm bracelet gifted by the children she nannies with sentimental crystals to bring luck, magic, and love. The groom and father of the bride also had cufflinks made from their birthstones. Krista owns a small business called, Crystabelle Candles, so it was important to have a wedding scent. They had candle favours and diffusers dotted all around. Krista's dad made the crescent moon decoration, and her mum made the confetti from peonies in her garden! How cute! The flowers were all grown by Krista and she made the centrepieces too!
Opting for midnight blue bridesmaid dresses was an amazing choice! It's the perfect shade for a celestial-themed day. Krista's wedding dress also seemed like it was destined as the bridal boutique's name was Sapphire. It's her late grandad's birthstone and the design code of the dress was the wedding date backwards as well as being an angel number! All the signs were pointing towards saying yes to the dress and Krista knew she had found the one. She paired it perfectly with a pearl veil. Krista & Phil did things their way, choosing things they loved rather than sticking to tradition. Krista & Phil both said that one of their favourite moments of the day was seeing each other at opposite ends of the aisle for the first time!
Our advice would be to really think about what you want! If it doesn't light you up and make you happy, don't do it or don't have it. Also, we know it's cliche but the day goes so quickly, so take some moments to sit back and look at your guests enjoying your day. Get a good photographer and videographer. When the day is over you will look at any photos and videos so many times! It's a beautiful way to revisit such a special occasion.
