On hearing that Laura and Paul had to swap their destination wedding plans for a small wedding in the Lake District, you would be forgiven for thinking that it would be a more muted affair. But we're more than happy to show you just how wrong you were. With all the extravagance of a three-day Bali affair, but the intimacy of only 13 guests, this micro-wedding perfectly combines the best of both worlds. They've shown us that the size of your guest list isn't everything, and that nothing can stop you having the wedding decor of your wildest dreams!
My favourite moment was announcing to my husband after the ceremony that I was pregnant! He didn't see it coming!Laura
Laura and Paul knew they wanted a rustic boho vibe from the beginning. So they brought the beautiful feel of a destination wedding right to the UK with their small wedding in the Lake District. The decor was everything, featuring a mega pampas grass flower cloud and rattan table settings. Low Hall's exposed beams and brickwork also set the perfect rustic backdrop and relaxed vibe to the day. Of course, it wouldn't have been a boho inspired wedding without some wrap around fairy lights either...
So obviously this wedding was one of the most mega micro-weddings we've ever seen. We're drooling over Laura's Rue de Seine Dress and Paul's sleek Marc Darcy suit, and are pretty sure the wild hills of the Lakes have never seen such style. But they didn't hold back on the details either. Hand lettering, a stunning three-tier box cake and a menu provided by a local smokery all created the most memorable day that has us dreaming of our own British elopement!
Listen to recommendations from people that have been there and done it before. They know what you're looking for. The most amazing people that helped our day come to life were Francesca and Ben who own the venue. We can't thank them enough for everything!Laura and Paul
Laura and Paul aren't the only couple who've opted for a small wedding in the Lake District. Whether you're planning an autumn wedding, an elopement or even a Dirty Dancing inspired engagement shoot (we're not kidding, we're obsessed.) the northern Lakes could be the staycation destination you've been searching for!
