If you listened to this week's Rock My Wedding: The Podcast, then you’ll have heard that the average spend on wedding dresses by Rock My Wedding readers was £1,574.76*. (And if you haven’t listened yet, why not? Get thee over to iTunes/Acast/your usual podcast provider and wrap your ears around this week’s episode, which is all about The Dress). So this week I have made it my mission to hunt down some affordable high street wedding dresses for you: all the gorgeousness of a boutique buy but at a fraction of the price.
I’m a big fan of the French Connection homewares, so I was extremely excited to see their new bridal range. Like their fashion and home pieces, the gowns are simple but stylish, high quality and a bit different to anything else on the high street. I like the fact that the range is limited to just seven choices (impossible to be overwhelmed), and each of the seven is so beaut that I struggled to choose a favourite. But choose a favourite I did, and it’s this absolute stunner of a gown…
You guys LOVED the Monsoon gown that we raved about in our round up of the best blush bridesmaids dresses, so I figured you might like this absolute beauty of a wedding dress. Check out the back detail. Just gorgeous.
If you’ve ever read any of my fashion posts over on Rock My Style then you may have noticed that I’m slightly obsessed with all things Whistles. And if you have a look at their wedding dress edit then you’ll see why. Loads of structure and clean lines – effortlessly modern and the perfect choice for a city wedding. I love the daisy lace and raised-front hem on this Bardot number.
Asos is always my first port of call if I’m researching bridesmaid dresses, and their wedding dress selection doesn’t disappoint either. At £165, this fringed flapper-esque number is an absolute steal.
Would you believe that the wedding dress in the header is from the high street? Yup, it’s a Phase Eight gown, and I am full-on LOVING their selection at the moment. Their Mariana sequin maxi dress is one of the most flattering I’ve ever seen: it’s waist-cinching and upper-arm-covering, but the sheer material and subtle split-leg expose just the right amount of skin.
Oh heyyyyy dreamy button-back lace dress! I was over the moon to stumble across a couple of wedding dresses, including this one, at the fashion behemoth that is H&M. If you like it, (and for £89.99 c’mon what’s not to like), then snap it up quick…their stuff always sells out super-fast.
Have you found The Dress yet? Have you gone bridal boutique/high street?
