Sissons Barn and Floral Wedding Dress

Recommended Supplier, Mrs T Weddings, has created this absolutely gorgeous outdoor botanical wedding ceremony at Sissons Barn with English eccentricity and a nod to Alice In Wonderland in mind. Amongst the wood, brick and brass textures of the venue, she threw in a few pops of eclectic fantasy; think neon lighting, a confetti pony and a cake table suspended from the ceiling!

Sissons Barn in East Anglia is a purpose built, modern wedding venue with all the rustic charm that you'd expect of a countryside ceremony. Basically it's the best of both worlds! There's a stunning outdoor pergoda, aka 'The Willow Room', horse stables and even a blacksmiths forge. As well as this, every couple who gets married at Sissons Barn has a leaf forged for them and added to the garden, which we think is a lovely touch.

We wanted to bring eccentric luxury to boho. I took the fun and excitement of Alice in Wonderland, a firm favourite of many, and translated it into a more accessible wedding style. Giving nods here and there without being completely immersed (down the rabbit hole).

VIBE

A rich, rustic wedding at Sissons Barn with modern twists, individual flair and relaxed boho vibes. Mrs T Weddings wanted to embrace English quirks and eccentricity, specifically a nod to Alice in Wonderland. The bronze key detailing on the wedding stationery is a great touch! Banquet tables are then styled with fruits of the forest, warm autumnal colours and gold leaf, set against natural textures like chopped wood. Anyone else's mouth watering from those cupcakes? Big and bold florals in rusty peach tones ooze from every angle, a celebration of flowers. Alongside this, a dreamy meadow-aisle filled with wispy, wild grasses for an untamed element.

STYLING

The dresses in this shoot are elegant and classic, with subtle embellished details to give them a whimsical edge. So think shimmer, floral beading, ballgown skirts and balloon sleeves! We especially love the flower detailing and low back on the Savin London dress. The delicate hair accessories and pearl earrings by Recommended Supplier Rachel Sokhal are cute modern twists on a classic bridal look. The groom wore two heritage suit pieces by Chimney Formal Menswear, mixing classic tweed with hints of floral patterns for another twist on classic English style with a modern touch.

The incredible, undisturbed flat plains surrounding Sissons Barn allow for perfect sunset shots. We took advantage of the gorgeous golden hour glow to capture real couple Phil and Michelle.
