Scotland Elopement

Scotland Elopement at Cairngorms

Photography by The Caryls

There is something magical about a Scotland elopement. Whether it’s the incredible scenery, the whimsical vibes, or the dark and dreamy backdrops, we just can’t get enough. Olivia & Adam were married in an intimate ceremony featuring just their celebrant, and special guest Tannie (their celebrant’s spaniel!) Wanting a stress free and uncomplicated day, they ensured each aspect was the epitome of their relationship. We can feel all the love from this beautiful day.

VIBE

Simplicity with a touch of tradition. We wanted it to be stress free and uncomplicated. Wanting to relax and focus only on us but give a nod to tradition. We loved the symbolism of hand fasting (tying the knot) and drinking from the quaich. We both love nature and so we knew that would be a focal point. Re: styling, we each chose what we wanted to wear without a central theme and just trusted that it would work. We wanted our surroundings to be the focus. We built our wedding around the location.

VENUE

I cannot recommend the Killiehuntly Farmhouse and The Fife Arms more. We went on a fantastic Fife picnic in the surrounding forests the day before our wedding -the Laird’s picnic. We had a romantic private dinner in the Library of the Fife on the night of our wedding (although confused, they were happy to make me a crispy cheese toasty) - this followed canapés in the cellar and lots of champagne. Later, we shared a home cooked private dinner in the dining room of the Killiehuntly after e-mountain biking for hours in the cold and relaxing in the sauna yurt.

How gorgeous does Olivia look in her off-the-shoulder wedding gown? We absolutely love the fit and style!

Keep it simple and remember what it’s really about: the commitment to spend your life with your best friend and having fun. Don’t let other’s expectations of what your day “should be” get in the way.
