What Made Your Day Unique
The sun shone with crystal clear blue skies after a week of grey slightly overcast weather. The atmosphere on the day felt electric, and this is the same feeling I get when I am working on someone else's special day. This is definitely down to the suppliers bringing all of their creative energy and passion and it was amazing to experience it from the other side. We wrote unique vows to each other and we only heard these when we read them during the ceremony, which resulted in quite a lot of (happy) tears. We used as many sentimental and special items as we could, such as my grandparents upcycled side table for our ceremony and Angus's late father's pen to sign the register and grandparents rug.Catriona & Angus
Inspiration Behind The Styling
I'll be honest, the styling was the easiest bit. It had been difficult finding a venue I had not worked with before so when High Billinghurst was highlighted to me by the very best eyes in the business, Jen Middlehirst (Kalm Kitchen Ltd) I knew that we had the one. It was a blank canvas of rustic chic charm and that was so exciting! The colour scheme came to me quickly and evolved with the help of our floral queen and creative genius, Kate (Kate Avery Flowers) she totally got the ideas and created a beautiful mood board which I still love looking at now. The incredible moon gate decked in plum purples and aubergines alongside pops of berry pink, rustic greens and brassy gold. The styling had a romantic luxe feel to it and seeing it come together was a feast for the eyes. Pete had endless advice and ideas, we put his penmanship to great use for our place cards and table names and table plan. We were so grateful and lucky to have his warm and encouraging support and creativity on tap.Catriona & Angus
