Big, bold, boundless and PINK! At alternative wedding venue The Giraffe Shed.
Inspiration & Styling
I Believe in Pink is a concept that Hannah from The Giraffe Shed has wanted to do since her and her husband, Neil, opened the shed. Hannah wanted it to be big, bold, alternative, and PINK, really represent the non-traditional values of the shed. We wanted to show couples how boundless the limits are with weddings, and if you want an editorial pink explosion of the wedding – it absolutely can be done. The Giraffe Shed is a photographers dream venue, the beautiful light streaming in from the huge windows, a massive space that can be styled in any way you can dream of – but really stylish from the get-go. These images are by Esme Whiteside Photography, one of the lead photographers on the workshop. Shot in her romantic and intimate style, but really giving the alternative and non-traditional atmosphere, with those ever warm and moody tones.Hannah from The Giraffe Shed
Pink has to be one of our favourite colours to use at weddings; be that in the florals, cake or decor but especially when we see a pink wedding dress! Layers and layers of tulle make it a real show stopper and suits real bride-to-be Cara down to the ground. As always The Giraffe Shed provides the perfect backdrop to showcase this alternative inspiration complete with neon signs, a flamingo tier wedding cake and disco balls.
Decor & Details
When it came to styling, this was incredibly important for us, we used Han’s pink cabinet for the cake stand, disco balls suspended from the ceiling, the signature shed neon lights and pink wall and a pastel yellow chaise. When Sally from Luna and the Lane saw the concept, she added the pastels into the mood board to tie it together and worked her magic on the space. Floral queen Emma Cox created florals that blew everyone’s mind. She created one bouquet for either of the brides to use, a pink floral cloud suspended above the chaise, floral stands around the chaise and the cake cabinet, and a last-minute floral disco ball to add to that installation. Beautiful pink roses, dahlias, pampas and dried elements made up the flowers – she worked tirelessly to create something completely new and original, and incredibly pink. Miss Havisham’s cake was again an original piece of art, with pink flamingo design, a tier of pom-poms and sugar flowers – a pastel pink kitsch triumph. Sundown Paper provided the sign, with a pastel pink heart and pastel lettering, and modern contemporary pastel stationery.Hannah from The Giraffe Shed

Fashion & Beauty
We found real couple Jade and Cara, who’s wedding had to be postponed because of COVID, to be our workshop models. Jade had that mindblowing pink tulle couture gown custom made for her by Claire from Claire Mischevani. It was a real showstopper on it’s own, but also went perfectly with the gold glitter E&W Couture gown that we selected for Cara (and both swished for those slow shutter shots!). Rebel Rock Hair and Makeup worked on both of the girls, and created pink editorial looks, a hot pink lip for Jade and hot pink eye for Cara, with bridal ponytail and THAT TULLE BOW by Claire for Jade, and a sleek straight look for Cara. To complete the look, the pink veil was provided by W Collective, and Jade’s necklace was by Babes and Bad Examples.Hannah from The Giraffe Shed
Pink has most definitely been the colour of the month, with these fabulous grooms twinning in pink suits and Dream Capture Workshop and Pink Palm Events getting together to bring a pink on pink colour scheme in a glasshouse.
