WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

"We knew we wanted to be married in London, it's the place where we've made our home. We chose the Asylum for a South East London venue, near our home, with bags of atmospheric personality. We wanted the day to feel personal and relaxed, made extra special by using our friend Maryanne of Jam and Tea for the catering, and making lots of the details ourselves- from the table decorations to the invitations. Our favourite moment was feeling the crackle of love and energy walking into our wedding together, the energy of everyone's smiling faces really will stay with us forever. Ricardo from Southwark council led a gorgeous ceremony, and we had readings from both our siblings " - Cordelia & Edward

Pine Cone Wedding Decor

The spray painted pine cone wedding decor really sets off the table centrepieces at this handmade and kitsch reception, combined with the hand painted place cards and colourful bunting made using vintage fabrics. This bride and grooms colour theme was every colour, which you can definitely tell from the beautiful bridal bouquet which paired perfectly with the brides elegant dress from Cathleen Jia. The brides original plan was to tuck a pair of bright red heels under her dress however due to an injury opted for the Rogue Matilda brogues instead, these amazing shoes also featured the brides something blue laces, they suited the style of this day perfectly and the bride felt they were more her too which is exactly what its all about!

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"Relaxed, handmade and colourful. We didn't want to feel too formal or constrained, particularly with our love of colour! When asked what our colour theme was we would say 'every colour!' Maryanne at Jam and Tea is really clever with kitsch details, from a light up burger for our burger station to vintage salt and pepper shakers on the tables, and tea served in vintage tea cups. We didn't have the budget for a florist beyond the bouquets but we wanted to add colour to the table, so mother of the groom collected over 700 pinecones which we spray painted in bright colours. As a fashion buyer, I love pattern so I handmade 100 Liberty print napkins using fabric I'd collected over the years, and made silk bunting from vintage scarves collected in charity shops. We also hand painted our placecards by flicking and splattering cards with watercolour paints. " - Cordelia & Edward
