Nikki & Joey are bang on trend incorporating a metallic streamer backdrop into their wedding. It frames their nuptials perfectly and looks fabulous to boot. One could describe their wedding as an explosion of fun, exuberance, bright colours, and joy - not a bad list, hey? Focusing on having a fun, relaxed day, the couple took inspiration from the 90s disco scene and added in their own favourite colours. When you feel the pure joy seeping from a set of photos, you know two things. 1) the wedding must have been phenomenal, and 2) the photographer did an incredible job. We can say with confidence that both of these things are true! Recommended supplier Cat Stevens Photography did her THING, taking photos that just scream fun and love. Recommended supplier Rose Forrest Hair and Makeup Artist also ensured that Nikki's gorgeous makeup remained in place all day long.
We really wanted a fun and relaxed day, so we left out a lot of formal traditions like seating plans and a formal sit-down meal. We loved having the live band and glitter bar for entertainment, too. The polaroid guest book was a winner with our guests as well!

If you want to add pops of your favourite colours into your big day, doing so through your decor is a great way to go. Nikki & Joey heard this loud and clear. Their metallic streamer backdrop immediately turns up the volume the minute you walk into the room. Pair that with an incredible white and pink neon sign with "It was always you", and you've got yourself a perfect collision of colour and romance. The backdrop isn't the only place you'll find streamers at this wedding, either. There were streamers on the backs of all the chairs and gold streamers on the lights. Nikki's dress and makeup looked absolutely gorgeous, rocking a lace overlay with leaf detailing on top of her sweetheart neckline dress. Her pink and red glam makeup also tied in perfectly with her pink hair.
Nikki & Joey were clear on the fact that they wanted to leave out some of the more traditional wedding features. By that, we mean things like seating plans and a sit-down meal after the ceremony. As made evident by their colourful theme and incredible outfits, these two are on the quirkier side of things. So not wanting to stick to tradition makes perfect sense! Having a less traditional, less formal wedding allows you a lot of freedom to arrange, decorate and light up your space however you wish. And the benefits of an intimate wedding are bountiful! They offer you a celebration full of love with close-knit family and friends. As we always say, your day, your way. Whatever makes you feel happiest at your wedding - do exactly that, just like Nikki & Joey did.
Our best advice is to stick with your own ideas. What you want your wedding to be is more important than anything. Of course, it's helpful to take ideas and advice from others, but remember - ultimately, you do you!
