Mary & Tommy
Mary & Tommy’s Wyresdale Park Wedding was completely unique to them as a couple. They described their day as relaxed, fun and colourful, and we’d say that’s pretty accurate from what we can see. For their wedding entertainment, Mary & Tommy had a gaming pod, lawn games, and board games dotted around the venue to encourage some healthy competition - no boredom in sight! They also had a seven-piece wedding band to get everyone up and dancing - something that was important to both Mary & Tommy. And if you thought this wedding couldn’t get any more fun, your jaw may drop when you see Mary’s pink wedding shoes from Mach & Mach. Pink, sparkly, and platformed - what more could you possibly want?
Mary is half Filipino, so the couple decided on a Filipino-style wedding breakfast called a ‘boodle fight’. A boodle fight is a type of charcuterie board with banana leaves and food laid out in the middle of the table. Charcuterie boards and grazing tables are a fun and relaxed way to serve your guests at weddings, and Mary & Tommy’s guests have not stopped talking about the food! Mary & Tommy held their ceremony in a church but included Filipino ceremonial traditions to incorporate both cultures, such as coins, veils, cords and candles. The couple describes their day as plentiful and tropical, and that includes Mary’s tropical wedding bouquet, which featured anthuriums - a bold and beautiful flower commonly found in the Philippines.
Be honest about what is important to you, and what isn't! For example, pretty early on, we both realised that neither of us were fussed about a wedding cake, so we didn't bother with one! We saved a bit of money, and from talking with our families, nobody missed it. However, if a traditional wedding cake is important to you, then definitely include it. Decide which traditions mean something to both of you and which don't. And most importantly - remember to start a few traditions of your own!
Mary & Tommy
Are you thinking of having a wedding reading during your ceremony? Mary & Tommy had 1 Corinthians 13:4, which is a super popular choice from the Bible. Or perhaps you want to focus on speeches. If so, we can help you out with your wedding speech order. Mary & Tommy made sure that music and dancing were a key part of their Wyresdale Park wedding. One of their favourite moments of the day was the wedding band doing a rendition of Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac. The guests sang their hearts out, and Mary & Tommy described it as a euphoric and special moment. If music is an important element to you, you'll love our list of first dance songs!
