VW bugs, not one but two bands and the most incredible macrame wedding decor we ever did see. Ellie and John hired a whole farmhouse for their Isle of Wight wedding (Complete with glamping in the field next door) and made it a whole weekend affair! From the maid of honour's magical macrame to Ellie's brother coming in with the showstopping lighting, it seems having creative friends and family when you plan a wedding is a good idea... It was all caught on camera by Recommended photographer Jason Mark Harris with his wife Sarah capturing all the love on film, and oh boy was this day full of it!
Jason and Sarah were the first suppliers we booked after we got engaged. There was never any contest, they are the best in the business! So many people recommended we have a wedding video as a must have - and oh my God we are so so happy we made the decision to get one. Seeing the expressions from the photos come to life has been utterly magical. We will treasure it forever.

They had the whole grounds of East Afton Farmhouse from the Wednesday prior to the wedding and basically threw a five day party with an incredible wedding at the end. There were countless jugs of pre-wedding Pimms, BBQs and fun setting up everything from the macrame wedding decor to the fairy lights for the big day. Glamping was also available in the field next door which was great for wedding guests wanting to party into the night. We're all for making your wedding as long as you want, and it's a lovely way to spend more time with your loved ones! Also, it's a great way to get help with the decorating in exchange for a tipple and a burger.
Ellie spotted her Grace Loves Lace Emanuela gown a few years before she got married. From then she knew it was the one for her! (The fact her mum and maid of honours burst into tears when they saw her in it probably sealed the deal...). It also matched the macrame wedding decor and once paired with a veil fit for the catwalk, she really made walking through wheat fields look fashion. John, the Dads, the Best Men and the Ushers all wore blue herringbone suit jackets from Moss Bros and looked pretty dapper doing it. We also love a man in a bow tie, never mind ten of them...
Our favourite moment? Seeing each other at the altar. At that point all the planning and efforts that go in to every minute detail of the day pale into insignificance and you know you are about to get married and literally nothing else matters in that moment.

If there is anything to learn from this wedding its keep your friends close, and your creative friends even closer. Especially if they are a dab hand at macrame wedding decor. But in all seriousness, if you enjoyed the DIY decor at this wedding, we've got plenty more of that. If it was the Grace Loves Lace number than turned your head, we've got a boho wedding dress roundup that is full of incredible gowns!
