The Photography
Olivia the Photographer: With a love for all things soft, romantic and dreamy, I put everything I had into creating the perfect, romantic, beach themed wedding images we could. Cornwall is at the core of every image I take, so shooting at Loe Bar was a dream come true. I aim to keep things natural and effortless in every image I take, letting either my couples, or in this case my models, interact with one another and capture the moments that they might not expect.
The Location
The Cornish coastline supplies everyone with endless inspiration. As wedding suppliers, every single one of us loves where we live, and feel incredibly honoured to be able to come together and create such beautiful imagery, thanks place we live in. The beaches of Cornwall are world famous, and I knew that I wanted to put together an inspirational shoot on one of my favourite beaches of all: Loe Bar. Located on the Lizard Peninsula, not far from the village of Porthleven, Loe Bar is not actually a natural beach. In fact, the beach was created over night when a violent storm deposited thousands of tonnes of sand on the shoreline. Looking at it, you would never begin to imagine that the sea could do such a thing; but we often underestimate how powerful it is. I took inspiration from the ruggedness of the beach, and tried to capture that in these images.
The Flowers
Jen at Twigs & Greens: Taking inspiration from the colours of the beach of Loe Bar, I created a bouquet which reflected just that; green foliage for the dunes, and white flowers for the sand.
The Beauty
Ione H&MUA: In an attempt to create a romantic and elegant bohemian feeling make up look, I created a half up half down hair style with soft waves and a messy halo twist incorporating the golden headpiece, supplied by
Lovely. This really helped tie the whole look together. The focus for the make up was to keep the look natural, focusing on our models’ eyes with a romantic pinky toned eyeshadow and natural lip.
The Styling
Alex the Stylist: Olivia came to me with the desire to create a set of images that were romantic and delicate in feel, yet also raw and unrefined. Shot by the sea she had a vision of simplicity and elegance; of the outland infused with the heirloom and antique. With a colour palette of neutral and natural shades, we kept things as organic as possible, letting the beauty of each element speak for itself. Each artefact included was selected for its artistry. We sought to capture a pastoral landscape of heritage, with delicacy in every detail.
