The Bride
Liz the Bride: My gown was from a boutique in Singapore called
Silhouette The
Atelier. It was a small boutique situated in the heart of Singapore
which I happened to stumble across when I was visiting family back
home. I wanted a sleek gown with a floral lace embroidery. What I
loved about the boutique was that I had the chance to work closely
with the tailors to design my gown to exactly how I wanted it to be.
The Groom
Ming chose
Alexandra Wood as she was
recommended to him and she had great reviews online. She does really
wonderful bespoke suits and her style really suited what Ming was
looking for.
The Venue
Ming and I both wanted a Spring/Summer wedding and with that a garden wedding. When we found
Morden Hall, it was perfect! It had a beautiful garden as the backdrop of an amazing house with lots
of different rooms filled with comfortable couches and space that we
thought would be perfect for guests to mingle in and our older guests
to lounge in. Not only was the venue beautiful, but the staff over at
Morden Hall were brilliant and incredibly experienced in throwing
weddings. Our wedding event coordinator from Morden Hall - Amber, knew everything about weddings from all cultures! She was warm, organised and really made you feel at ease during the every stressful months and weeks leading up to the big day. On the day itself Amber and her team really made our wedding reception absolutely seamless.
The Styling
As we wanted a Spring wedding we thought that the colour scheme of
whites, coral and pale peach and pinks would look very simple and
elegant against bright green foliage that would bring life and a laid
back feel to the decor. For our wedding stationery we had the ever so
talented Katie from
Oh Squirrel. She does the most amazing menu wraps
using beautiful floral fabrics. They tied it perfectly with the spring
wedding theme that I was going for.
The Flowers
Roses are a wedding must, and given that our wedding was in May,
peonies were a definite. I felt that the combination of the 2 gave a
soft elegant look to our flower arrangements. Our flowers were done by
the wonderful
Flowers by Kirsty.
The Wedding Party
In keeping with the pale pastel colour theme, the bridesmaids
dresses were a pale lavender colour. These dresses by TNFC were found
on
ASOS. Beautiful, sleek and so flattering on all my bridesmaids!
The groomsmen suits were from
Moss Bros. - chosen by Ming and
his groomsmen as they offered a good range of very nice suits at
decent prices.
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony itself took place in the church where Ming and
I attend. All Souls Church was a fantastic backdrop for the wedding.
Ming and I also had very talented friends who sang during the service
and who also gave the sermon during the wedding - this put a very
special touch on the whole day.
The Entertainment
We had a string quartet (
Anything Goes) playing
during the drinks reception which created a fantastic ambience to the
day. For our band we went with
Ear Candy who were fantastic as well!
Their repertoire was amazing and they even specially learnt ' You are
the best thing' by Ray Lamontagne for our first dance. Our guests
really loved dancing to the songs they played and they were a massive
hit! Last but not least, no wedding is complete without a photobooth.
A sure crowd pleaser, our photo booth was from a company called
Booth
star.
The Food
Our food was done by
Galloping Gourmet. They provided all the
reception drinks, canapés and the wedding breakfast. I cannot
recommend them enough! The food was INCREDIBLE and the service that
they provided was second to none. I cannot find a single criticism to
make. All our guests commented on how great the food was. They are
also very flexible and easy to work with in catering for all our
guests different dietary needs.
Our wedding cake was done by Kristina from
Cakes By KB. She was
fantastic to work with, and her cakes were incredible! We had a
chocolate cake with a raspberry cream cheese filling, covered with a
white-chocolate frosting.
The Images & Film
For our photographer Ming and I were really blown
away by the photos that
Frances had taken. From all the other wedding
photographers that we were browsing through on google, Frances's
photos really stood out to us. She has a wonderful ability to capture
what I thought were the best parts of each wedding so beautifully. We
got to know her better during our engagement shoot and she really put
us at ease and was really fun to work with.
We too resorted to google when we were looking for a
videographer. Again
Blue Ridge Weddings really stood out to us.
Their videos tell the most romantic stories of each couples wedding
day. We loved how they tastefully incorporate music into their shots
and they also had a drone and was able to do some amazing shots with
that!
