We love a little colour scheme inspiration! Today we’re bringing it to you in the form of a lilac wedding. The whimsical and fairytale like styling was influenced by a Provençal wedding; soft beauty, timeless romance and a perfect pergola overlooking rolling lawns. We are also head over heels in love with the incredible dresses featured - both as beautiful as each other, and both looking as though they were designed specifically with this inspiration in mind. Every photo gives us Marie Antoinette strolling through the gardens of Versailles vibes, and we are absolutely loving it.
Vision
Our inspiration behind this editorial was to recreate the timeless romance and soft beauty of a Provençal wedding right here in Surrey.Emma Jane Weddings
Inspiration & Styling
We wanted to experiment with the pale blues and lilacs that make a Provençal wedding so effortlessly pretty while incorporating our own modern touches such as the stoneware china and floral meadow. Provençal styling is typically more rustic than our design and makes more use of wooden furniture, though to add an element of luxury to the overall look, I opted for plush Louis chairs and heavy table linen in pale lilac.Emma Jane Weddings
When choosing your colour scheme, you would be surprised how much it can influence your day and the styling surrounding it. As you can see in todays lilac wedding photoshoot, the colouring flows easily into different aspects, such as the cake, table decor, bouquets, and those delectable looking macaroons… and remember, it’s your day, your way, the colour doesn’t necessarily need to reflect the season you’re marrying in! Go for something you love and run with it, you won’t regret it.
Wedding Flowers
The flowers were chosen to be reminiscent of a long summer afternoon in Provence, with the scent of lavender & garden roses in the air. As such, I chose to use predominantly British flowers and foliage sourced from artisan local growers. The roses in the bouquet came from Wales and had that quintessential garden rose scent. Sweet peas, jasmine and mint also added to the summer fragrance.'Amazing Grey' Poppies were styled with longer stems for that 'just gathered' aesthetic. All of the flowers were arranged in water with no floral foam, I aim to keep my plastic use and flower air miles to a minimumJessica Eliza Flowers
