Kate Halfpenny Wedding Dress

Photography by Tanli Joy Weddings

Ok, can we all just take a moment to appreciate this stunning wedding dress designed by recommended supplier, Kate Halfpenny? The feathers, the wrap detailing, the veil… eurgh, yes. Please. Anyway… Robyn & Rob were fortunate enough to say their I-do’s just a few days before lockdown. They knew from the offset they wanted their day to be relaxed and intimate. Their styling was simple and stripped back, reflective of their non-traditional feel! Empty gin bottles decorated the evening venue; filled with fairy lights surrounding the dance floor, and used as vases for their centrepieces. We’re also loving the vaulted cellars which hosted their reception - super cool!

Don't compromise on your dress and don't let other people try to push you into a decision - you know what suits your body!

We knew we wanted something small and relaxed. We didn't want anything too traditional; we wanted it to reflect our personalities and involved our loved ones as much as possible. I had my mum walk me down the aisle and Rob's sister conduct our ceremony for us. We did our own vows and didn't have the traditional bridal parties.

Kate Halfpenny

Robyn found the most stressful part of her wedding planning to be dress shopping, and ended up changing her gown just 5 weeks before the big day! She found herself drawn to Kate Halfpenny, a designer she had always loved. After booking an appointment, she found the beautiful dress you can see pictured. We love the wrap style and unique feathering to the back, oh, and check out that veil!

We bought some small pieces of decor ourselves from Hobbycraft and I used stencils to create chalkboards for our sweet table and gift table. My maid of honour's mother is also extremely talented and made the hand painted pallet we used to welcome guests to the ceremony room.We borrowed some other pieces which had originally been used at my maid of honour's wedding, including tea light holders.
