Photography
Jess the Bride: After looking at M and J Photography's website, we were very impressed with their online portfolio. We loved the sophisticated and candid style of their photographs, capturing natural moments. We also loved how they ensured that every small detail was captured from the day. It was very useful having two photographers on the day, ensuring that nothing
was missed!
Videographer
We were over the moon with the video we received from James from
Motion Farm Wedding Films. In particular we liked the formatting of his videos whereby he would overlay speech with other images, for example Jess reading her wedding card whilst showing the venue being prepared for the day.
Brides Gown
The lace appliqué detail made the dress perfect for the Garden Romance theme.
Florist
We wanted the flowers to be very natural and understated, using lots of whites and greens, bringing in a hint of blush pink.
The bride’s bouquet was a loose, natural hand-tied bouquet with pink peonies, a variety of roses, astilbe and some trailing foliage. The bridesmaids bouquets were in the same style, with the same flower selection but slightly smaller.
Flowers by Passion also provided us with an abundance of candles and lanterns to decorate the venue. In the evening, this provided a soft, romantic setting when the sun went down. They also provided us with hand painted wooden signs, directing guests towards ‘dinner and dancing’ and ‘ceremony’.
Venue
After a two year engagement, we tied the knot at
Barnsley House Hotel & Spa in Cirencester on 1st June 2017. We instantly fell in love with the venue and the stunning gardens. The wedding team at the Hotel were extremely helpful, recommending local suppliers and making the day run smoothly. We were able to privately book the hotel for the event, ensuring our closest family and friends could all stay together. The wedding party enjoyed an intimate rehearsal dinner the evening before the big day.
The night before the groomsmen all made use of the village pub and stayed in ‘Home Farm Cottage’ next door, whilst the bridesmaids had the spacious ‘Rosemary Verey’ suite to get ready in. They all enjoyed a Bridesmaids breakfast in the beautiful conservatory and had ample space for hair and make up.
For our wedding night, we stayed in ‘The Secret Garden’ suite which was simply stunning, tucked away behind its own walled garden.
On the day we were so lucky with the weather and were able to have an outdoor ceremony, which made an idyllic, intimate setting in which to say our vows.
Caterer
We attended the hotel a number of weeks before the big day to sample and select our wine and food options. This was a fantastic day in itself, with the restaurant manager preparing blind wine tastings for us and being able to personally meet the chef.
We settled on a Gin and cocktail bar to be set up outside in the ‘Temple’ which we affectionately named ‘Jimmer’s Gin Bar’ after the Father of the Bride. Cocktails of the day were a ‘Mint to be Mojito’ (Royal Mojito) and a ‘Marry Me Martini’ (Rhubard martini using rhubarb from the hotel’s own gardens).
Bridesmaids Dresses
The girls all looked stunning in a long floor length gown in a soft pastel pink from
Dessy. The material was floaty and elegant.
Hair and Make up
I highly recommend
Laura and her team, during both my hair and makeup trials the ladies helped me to find my perfect style.
