Iridescent wedding dress

Iridescent Wedding Dress at The Asylum

Photography by Kirsty Mackenzie Photography

Did I originally think I needed an iridescent wedding dress? Hm, it hadn’t crossed my mind. Now, after seeing Kate in hers, do I need one? Yes. Yes, I absolutely do. This. Wedding. Is. Fiiiiiire. From the unbelievable wedding ceremony (that venue), to the reception that makes me want to party, I am all about Kate & Adam’s style. Look, anyone who opts for a cheese tower are my kinda people. If you’re looking for a little wedding inspiration, then honestly, look no further, because this couple have got it down. Oh, and of course it is all perfectly captured by recommended supplier Kirsty Mackenzie Photography!

We wanted a joy centric, budget-friendly, fun but slightly daft day. We chose a unique venue and coupled it with an amazing pub in the City of London. It featured a downstairs speakeasy-style whiskey bar and 3am licence!

VIBE

Fun, Relaxed, Easy Going, Wild. The ceremony venue was so different from anything it took zero styling. Our reception venue had eucalyptus in milk bottles and custom printed beer mats. To bring a ridiculous vibe to the party, we had large dressing up boxes filled with inflatables and giant glasses.

ADVICE

Don’t spend too much money, get an incredible photographer who has the same ethos and could be one of your guests. Kirsty made us feel so relaxed and was totally brilliant. There wasn’t a single awkward moment. Our biggest regret was actually not getting a videographer too!

How incredible is the image of Kate and her veil blowing to the side? I’ll just pick my jaw up off the floor now…

Our favourite moments would have to be the confetti cannons going off during the first dance! And cracking out 100 Espresso Martini’s after the meal in the speakeasy was a turning point too…
