It's no secret that we love a dramatic scenery shot, but Lauren and Jack's highland wedding has taken us to another level in autumnal wedding dreamland. The stunning Scottish backdrop set the scene for their micro wedding, and recommended suppliers Bates + Bates captured the day flawlessly. Although their original May wedding date had been cancelled, Lauren and Jack decided to go ahead with a Covid-secure ceremony in October at the boho barn venue of their dreams. After looking through the incredible shots and breathtaking autumn colours (who knew bracken could look so damn good!) we're pretty glad they did.
Our favourite moment was looking at all our favourite people sat at one table for the wedding dinner. Going from 150 people to 20 didn't feel like a restriction for us, it just made our day more intimate and special. We would definitely recommend a small wedding and wouldn't change our day one bit!Lauren and Jack
Lauren and Jack always knew they wanted an earthy and rustic wedding in their beautiful home country of Scotland. The stables provided the perfect setting for their day with vibrant autumn colours and streams of fairy lights. Lauren's boho dress and flower crown created a stunning autumn look, and don't even get us started on all those groomsmen in kilts...
Wondering what the perfect highland wedding sounds like? When Lauren heard harpist Margaret Knight playing her mum's wedding song at an event, she knew she had found the one. She walked down the aisle to I Giorni by Ludovico Einaudi and her and Jack signed the register to River Flows In You by Yiruma. Excuse us whilst we wipe away a tear or two!
All of our suppliers were an absolute dream and completely smashed it. A special shout out to our photographers Meghan and Andy, they captured our highland wedding so perfectly. They are super friendly, chilled, funny and made us feel so relaxed! You won't find a nicer pair.Lauren and Jack
Thinking of your own highland wedding? we've got some highland bride inspo that you don't want to miss. If it's the Scottish scenery that's calling, how about a loch side woodland wedding? Or perhaps this stunning castle wedding that will get you planning your own northern elopement!
