Rachel and Nick kept costs down but spirits high at their DIY wedding, with white high street bridesmaid dresses, and, Pringles and M&M canapes. They forged a day that was truly them, wearing their sunnies for the couples portraits, and singing a duet as they entered the reception as man and wife. Rachel also turned her hand to floristry and cake decorating. And looked killer in her strapless wedding dress by, Recommended supplier, Halfpenny London. Ouff!
We had Pringle's, M&Ms, peanuts, and other snacks served on a tray during cocktail hour. I'd never seen this before, it was a great way to keep costs down. Especially as everyone loves a Pringle!!Rachel & Nick
We wanted to reflect our personalities at our wedding. Music was very important to us so we had family friends (who are professional musicians) play and sing at the ceremony and the drinks hour. I wanted a timeless feel to the wedding so chose a timeless wedding dress and white high street bridesmaid dresses. But also wanted it to be fun and entertaining as that's who we are. We had lawn games, a photo booth room to dress up in and a gourmet burger van in the evening to help reflect the things we like to do and eat.
Seeing all the countless hours of hard work (being my own wedding stylist and DIY) come together was really amazing. The groom's speech was the best speech I'd ever heard. It was risky in points and heartfelt in others. I guess that's why I married him! So many guests commented on how funny and interesting the speeches were, even months later. I also loved seeing others enjoying the day. I got to talk to all my guests at some point of the day and that was a lovely experience that I didn't think I would get to do.
Make your day more personal and think outside the box. Lots of suppliers are willing to work within your budget if discuss your options together. Lastly, ask for favours. Family and friends are always willing to help make your day special and if someone has a talent use it!Rachel & Nick
