Our Story
Hannah the Bride: James and I met in August 2013 on
match.com, the picture of him and his Nan made me send the email. When we spoke later that evening it felt like coming home. James proposed to me January 2015 on the kitchen floor over my homemade chicken pie.
The Dress
I fell in love with the Percy dress when I was browsing the
J.Crew website, it was so simple and elegant. Keeping my wedding dress simple, ensured glittery wedding shoes. I fell in love with ombre pink to gold glitter heels from
Jimmy Choo which James bought me for Xmas last year.
The Venue
Ufton Court was one of the first venues we looked at and the fact it was a charity really appealed to us along with their stunning tithe barn. We brought the rainbow gold glitter colour theme to life through working with wedding planner and stylist
Claire Louise Creates who totally got us, I loved every minute of working with her and she had fantastic ideas.
The Decor
My aim was to bring the gold glitter theme into every element of the day if possible, so I used Pinterest for inspiration. This resulted in the production of glitter jam jars, baskets and large 3D table numbers.
Claire Louise Creates created an 8ft rainbow table plan which guests saw after they had walked through the tree lined path draped with ribbons and chalkboard signs. It was a rainy day but the grey didn’t dampen our mood. The rainbow umbrellas, tassels and honeycomb balls were pops of colour and the fun party vibe kept the energy racing the whole day.
The Flowers
Emma from
Green Parlour was amazing; my brief of wild flowers with glitter were brought it to life perfectly. The wedding bouquets with sequin ribbons, hair piece and glitter vases for the tables were absolutely stunning.
The Entertainment
We both love live music so we had two bands. For the reception PG Stompers, a 5 piece Dixyland Jazz band played, they were superb. For the evening, we had Oomphf - a funk/soul band their music was fantastic, the group kept everyone on the dance floor all night, they were epic!
The Food
Wild Fork were amazing caterers. Wild Fork even provided us with the multicoloured napkins to continue the rainbow theme, and striped straws and jars of glitter were added to the tables to make the wedding breakfast awash with colour. In the centre of each table was a little bell for the Mr & Mrs Quiz that came later.
The Photography
Claire recommended
Anna Pumer as a super fun, brilliant and talented lady. She was absolutely right on all aspects!! We couldn’t have wished for a better photographer. She took us out of the usual “wedding comfort zone” which meant we got exactly what we wanted and more from our wedding photos. From the moment we met her we knew Anna was brilliant, she made James liking having his picture done, which was amazing in itself. Anna captured our day perfectly the images were fantastic, I welled up when I saw them as it was like reliving our day again.
The Videography
We were so glad we recorded our day with
Blooming Lovely Films who Anna recommended as I can’t remember walking down the aisle as I was so nervous and cried through my Dad’s speech.
