As we slowly transition from Summer to Autumn, with it comes darker evenings, autumnal hues and dappled light, all of which are portrayed and captured beautifully by Esme Whiteside at this Giraffe Shed workshop. The contemporary barn wedding venue has high ceilings, large windows and a wonderful open-plan space, perfect for hanging ornate spiral flower installations, displaying delicious cakes and setting up intimate tablescapes. But if you don't believe us, just look at the images and styling below and see for yourself, you won't regret it! Probably best to get your pinning fingers ready too. Enjoy!
Vision
Elegant Shed was the second concept for the first-ever Giraffe Shed Workshop. We wanted something that was slightly more traditional, stylish but still with that little bit of an edge (we were in the Giraffe Shed after all). A concept that was beautiful and rich at its core. For the attendees, this contrasted the pink concept, making sure we gave them a rounded day of beautiful content. The Giraffe Shed is a photographers dream venue, the beautiful light streaming in from the huge windows, a massive space that can be styled in any way you can dream of – but really stylish from the get-go.
Inspiration & Styling
When it came to styling, this was incredibly important for us, we wanted something much more pared-back, but still, a huge feature, Sally from Luna and the Lane styled the table, which looked incredible. Sally also added the richer tones into the mood board and the pops of black for depth. The table featured blacks, burgundies and softer pinks in the candles and crockery – with Chloe Creatives genius work on the day stationery. The textured paper with Chloe’s geometric designs were PERFECT. Donna from Pheasant Botanic created the spiral floral installation, which was the most ambitious floral work I’ve ever seen. It was just amazing and set the scene entirely in the space, I really don’t have words for how incredible it was, the perfect backdrop and feature piece. Donna also created the contemporary bouquet, and feature pieces surrounding the table, using the rich deep berry tones. Sam at Sam’s Sweet Treats created three beautiful cakes, textured soft pinks with berries and florals, super sophisticated but modern, and were styled on Hannah’s geometric tables, with a copper frame holding Chloe’s beautiful sign. The Giraffe Shed
The Giraffe Shed in Wales has been home to many an inspiring shoot featured on Rock My Wedding. From boho vibes through to contemporary style, the wonderful venue is the perfect blank canvas for your wedding, what ever your theme. The only restrictions are your imagination.
Fashion & Beauty
We found real couple Grace and Josh, who were just perfect for this. Grace wore the Harlow from the new E&W Couture collection. A strapless gown with a keyhole and tie front, and then all the volume at the bottom, with a small subtle heart print. So beautiful, and so stylish. Josh wore a camel suit from Next and a burnt rust shirt, we wanted relaxed but stylish and he looked amazing. Rebel Rock Hair and Makeup created the look for Grace, a dark sophisticated lip, with bouncy elegant curls, topped off with a mauve pearl headband from Maison Archives London. Grace looked stunning, and the girls did an amazing job complimenting her hair and makeup to the gown and the concept. The Giraffe Shed
Captures
These images are by Esme Whiteside Photography, one of the lead photographers on the workshop. Shot in her romantic and intimate style, but really giving the alternative and stylish atmosphere, with those ever warm and moody tones. Hardy’s catering provided the food for the workshop, for all attendees and models – and got rave reviews. Not only that, but the van was GORGEOUS and looked amazing in front of the Shed’s burnt black front. Leesha Williams was the lead Videographer for the day and created an amazing film. The workshop was incredible, with amazing feedback so far. The Giraffe Shed workshops will become an annual event – watch their socials for more! The Giraffe Shed
