Lillian West Bridal Separates with Pockets!
Georgie the Bride: I had a complete open mind when it came to my dress, I had no expectations but really didn’t expect to fall in love with something that wasn’t tight and embellished but I did! I loved the fact my
Lillian West gown was a two piece and the selling point for me was it had pockets, what more could a girl want in a wedding dress. The only thing missing for me were straps so the lovely ladies at
Wedding Frox got some extra lace which was added to make the off the shoulder style which I love. My petal effect veil was a bargain from
Etsy (MariamiMariami) and the stars I wore in my hair were something I already had.
My shoes were another bargain from
Kurt Geiger sale, I wanted a pop of colour and they were perfect and so comfortable. In the evening I swapped out of my big skirt and put a
Needle and Thread skirt on, which I’d had a big split put in the front of and I wore with flats, perfect for dancing. I kept my accessories simple wearing all gifts I had received on the morning of the wedding,
Tiffany diamond earrings along with an
Astley Clarke necklace and
Monica Vinader bracelet.
Grooms Suit & Tweed Waistcoat
Luke wore a rented suit from
Dapper Formalwear in Dorking, we got all the ushers and FOB to wear the same suit but different tweed waistcoats. He wore oxblood shoes to tie in with our colour scheme. In the evening Luke changed into a burgundy velvet dinner jacket from
Moss Bros with a black bow tie, I love that jacket.
Ramster Hall Wedding Venue
There couldn’t of been a more perfect venue for us than
Ramster Hall, it was christmassy, cosy, had open fires and was 15 minutes from home. We only visited Ramster while venue hunting and knew straight away that it was the perfect venue for our dream December wedding.
Burgundy & Gold Winter Wedding Decor & Flowers
Our colour scheme was burgundy, blush and gold which we thought really complemented the time of year without screaming christmas. We chose to have lots of candle light and used burgundy candles which really stood out on the tables. Our florist
Michelle Rust really understood what we were going for when decorating the venue. I had been collecting candelabras and other things from local charity shops for a few months before the wedding, when I handed it all over to Michelle I was never expecting it to look as beautiful as it did on the day, I don’t know how she did it. She also had a huge collection of tea light holders vases etc of her own which all came together amazingly and the great hall was breath taking when we walked in.
I love feathers and Michelle worked them into my bouquet so naturally along with putting some into the buttonholes too. I wanted a wild yet neat bouquet for myself and the bridesmaids with long flowing ribbons against our plain skirts.
Claire at
Nessa Noelle did all of our wedding stationery, she understood exactly what look we were going for and everything was perfect, again with lots of burgundy, gold and feathers!
Burgundy Sequin Bridesmaid Separates
The bridesmaids all wore
Coast outfits and like mine they were also two pieces which I loved. The sequins were perfect for Christmas and their rose gold
ASOS shoes added even more sparkle.
Local Church Wedding Ceremony
Our ceremony was really special, it was in the church where we were both christened and it fell on the weekend our local church had their Christmas tree festival meaning the church had about 50 Christmas trees dotted around and we sung Christmas carols during the service, it was perfect!
Wedding Entertainment
In the evening we had
Juke Rox band, they were recommended by a friend and they were incredible. They had such a great mix of music and got everyone dancing, the sax player was wandering around the dance floor and we all just loved it.
Hearty Winter Wedding Food
Our catering was done by
Jacaranda, we started with mulled wine and prosecco as welcome drinks, the mulled wine was very popular because it was freezing outside! Our meal was individually baked Camembert, Sausage & mash followed by sticky toffee pudding and it really was as good as it sounds. We just picked things we love and luckily our guests loved it all too. In the evening we had a cheese tower and chip boats. Our cake was made by Luke’s godmother and was all eaten on the night, we didn’t get a look in.
Wedding Photographer
We found
Matt Penberthy on Instagram and we knew instantly he was the photographer we would really love to capture our day, he had done a couple of weddings at Ramster previously and we absolutely loved his style. It's so us. We felt so comfortable with Matt on the day, nothing was forced and we are so incredibly happy with all of our images. He captured the feel of the wedding perfectly and we really couldn’t of asked for a nicer guy to have as such a big part of our day.
Wedding Videographer
We used
John Harris Wedding Films for our video which we are yet to see but we can’t wait.
