Georgie & Joe married at Recommended Venue, Houchins, with a timeless monochrome wedding theme, fresh white wedding flowers and classic styling. That being said, this wedding was also full of contemporary touches with disco balls, stylish sunglasses, a coffee van as an alternative to canapes, and a pizza truck complete with a beer pong table! Georgie & Joe are childhood sweethearts. The couple have been together for 12 years and wanted to make sure each of their guests, who’d played such a part in their journey together, would have the best time at their wedding. Recommended Supplier, Jodie DC Mitchell Photography, captured the beautiful day!
Don't do something because you think you have to do it or it's traditional to, or you think guests expect it. Make it personal to you and your relationship. Let the day unfold naturally and try not to get too worked up on the finer details. It's easy to worry about trying to make everything "perfect", but as long as you are having a great time together with all your loved ones, and are totally present, then the day will be perfect regardless.
Georgie & Joe
Georgie & Joe’s monochrome wedding was traditional and classic but contemporary and cool. Their photographer and videographer got this vibe completely and made the couple feel like total rock stars decked out in stylish wedding sunglasses. They were the easiest choice to make when picking wedding suppliers. The inspiration behind the styling was something timeless yet personal to Georgie & Joe. The couple had disco balls for their love of music, a lot of white and greenery in the flowers to keep it fresh and simple that also made things such as the pink glasses and the pink and chrome beer cans pop.
From the coffee van to the tailored bespoke menu, temporary tattoos to disco balls, beer pong to pizza truck, Georgie & Joe wanted a relaxed laid-back day to celebrate 12 years of love. These childhood sweethearts had Georgie's nan as the flower girl and the DJ played old-school Blink-182 and Paramore in the evening so everyone could rock out. To go with the coffee van, the couple had macaroons and cookies instead of canapés. As childhood sweethearts all the guests had played a part in Georgie & Joe’s journey together, so they wanted a wedding that was undeniably them. Everyone had a great time and felt comfortable!
Georgie: My favourite moment was when we first locked eyes down the aisle. Joe was already crying so he barely saw me through the tears.
Joe: We made a conscious decision in the evening to take ourselves away for 5 minutes in the evening to watch the wedding evening unfold and take it in from a distance. Having that quiet time together after a hectic day, watching everyone still partying before we rejoined was one of the most special moments.
