This elegant London wedding - and stunning statement floral arrangement - is exactly what I need to add some magic to my mid-week. The beautiful blooms are mirrored by an equally beautiful bride, wearing the Carenne dress by Charlie Brear, accessorised with a fabulous lace jacket and porcelain flowers in her hair. I love the photo of Jess swishing her dress around in the doorway of Town Hall Hotel. The styling is completed with a semi-naked cake by one of RMW's handpicked List members, Little Bear Cakery, a champagne table studded with succulents, and a copper frame table plan. Come on in and be captivated by Jess' beaming smile and sublime sense of style.
Readings & Music
Although we weren't having a church wedding, we were still keen that the ceremony reflected the importance of that part of the day. I asked my dad to help suggest some classical music: we had a playlist including Rossini, Handel and Dvorak in the background while guests were arriving, and I walked down the aisle to Boccherini's String Quintet in C Major G 324. We also chose two of our closest friends to each do a reading: I chose an excerpt from 'The Amber Spyglass' by Philip Pullman, and John chose an excerpt from 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' by Louis de Bernieres.Jess & John
Oh my, isn't Jess & John's floral arrangement breathtaking? It doesn't detract from the bride in her beautiful Charlie Brear gown and lace jacket of course, but it is a stunning focal point, used to great effect during both the ceremony and the reception. Which is one of the advantages of selecting an epic statement piece like this: it can be used throughout your day, in different settings, meaning you and your guests get to enjoy the décor to the max. Indeco Flowers were able to incorporate Jess' favourite blooms - tulips - despite only being on the cusp of the season, working with a predominantly white and green colour scheme with bursts of blush. These statement florals also inspired our couple's stationery suite, designed and printed by RMW recommended supplier Papier, giving a gorgeous theme to run throughout the day.
Favourite Moment Of Our Day
The ceremony was incredibly meaningful and, personally, I loved the build-up to it – getting ready with my bridesmaids and my mum, and having other friends and family pop in and out. We created such a fun atmosphere, aided by the amazing glam squad of Suzanne Smith MUA (a good friend of my maid of honour) and the girls from Blow Dry Express. That morning definitely goes down as one of my highlights of the day. And then starting to relax post-ceremony, actually getting to spend time with all of the guests, hearing the brilliant speeches – and barely leaving the dance floor!
